Mahindra & Mahindra has launched its flagship SUV Alturas G4 updated to BS6 fuel emission standards. The company is continually updating its portfolio to make vehicles compliant with the new BS6 fuel emission standards. Along with this, Mahindra has also launched the BS6 version of the Scorpio, XUV500. Recently the company launched Bolero Facelift and KUV100 NXT with BS6 engine. The company has already started the booking of the Alturas G4 BS6.

Design

Talking about the design of the 2020 Mahindra Alturas G4 SUV, there has been no major change. The design of the BS6 model will remain the same as the BS4 model, though it may see some minor changes. This SUV can get a bigger grille and a new look bumper, which was given in the updated version of the global model Rexton G4. Along with this, new dual-tone alloy wheels can also be given in this SUV.

Engine

The Mahindra Alturas G4 will get a 2.2-liter 4 cylinder diesel engine. This engine will generate 178.5 bhp power and 420Nm peak torque. The BS6 model uses the same engine of the old BS4 model. This engine will get a 7-speed automatic gearbox, which is taken from Mercedes Benz.

Features

The Alturas G4 SUV BS6’s interior, cabin layout, and features will also not see any significant changes. The SUV will continue to feature Apple CarPlay and Android Auto’s touchscreen infotainment system. Also, dual-zone climate control, color MID, ventilated seats, cruise control, electrically adjustable driver seat, and many more will be available. Talking about safety features, it gets 9 airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, ESC, Hill Start Assist, Hill Descent Control, and a 360-degree camera.

Price

The Mahindra Alturas BS6 SUV has a starting price of Rs 28.69 lakh, it gets 2WD (two-wheel drive). The top-end fully-loaded 4WD model has priced at Rs 31.69 lakh. The price of the new BS6 model has increased by more than Rs 1 lakh compared to the BS4 model. The ex-showroom price of the old BS4 model starts at Rs 27.7 lakh and the ex-showroom price of the top-end model went up to Rs 30.7 lakh. The company has started booking Mahindra Alturas G4 SUV. This car can be booked online for a token amount of Rs 50,000. In India, it will compete with SUVs such as the Ford Endeavor and Toyota Fortuner.
