Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation at 10 am today. Today was the last day of the 21-day lockdown caused by the Coronavirus. Meanwhile, once again PM Modi addressed the country and extended the lockdown period. With this, it has been estimated that the 13th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will also be postponed.

PM Modi has now extended the lockdown till May 3. Due to this, the decision to postpone IPL 2020, which was postponed till April 15, will now have to be taken by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The BCCI may make a big announcement about IPL on Wednesday 15 April, if not today, when the league will be suspended.

Significantly, the 13th season of IPL was to begin on March 29, but it was postponed to April 15 due to Coronavirus. The BCCI was waiting for what Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced and what the new guidelines say on 15 April. However, it is now clear that IPL 2020 will not start at least before May 3, which the BCCI will have to come forward to officially announce.
