World Water Day:Sustain the water resources for all

Air, water, food and soil are some of the elements that are necessary for living on earth. From all, safe water is such an element that is not available to million of people. They are bound to have unclean and unhygienic water to drink and for other purposes. Many of them face severe scarcity of water. To aware people about sustainable development of fresh water resources, UN celebrates World water day on every 22nd March. This year theme of UN world water day is “Leaving no one behind” which concentrates on providing safe and fresh water to marginalized and discriminated groups of the society. UN water authorities says that “water services must meet the needs of marginalized groups (women, children, refugees, indigenous peoples, disabled people) and their voices must be heard in decision-making processes”.

Sustainable development goal 6 aims to ensure availability and sustainable management of water for all by 2030.

Having safe and clean water for drinking and other purposes is human right. Thus, to safeguard the right,  it is critical to manage the available water resources wisely so that every section of the society easily get water and we can move forward as global society.
