The biggest setback has been seen in the very first match of the T20 World Cup 2021. Pakistan has won against India for the first time in the history of the World Cup. Pakistan made a great start by defeating India by 10 wickets. Batting first, the Indian team looked helpless in front of the deadly bowling of Shaheen Afridi (3/31) and could only manage 151 runs with the help of a half-century from captain Virat Kohli (57). In reply, Pakistani captain Babar Azam (68 not out) and Mohammad Rizwan (79) achieved this target in the 18th over on the back of the great opening partnership with 13 balls to spare. With this, India’s successful streak of 12 consecutive wins in the history of ODI or T20 World Cup against Pakistan came to an end.

Pakistan captain Babar Azam won the toss and decided to bowl first. For this match, the Indian team has landed with 3 pacers – Shami, Bhuvneshwar, Bumrah and two spinners – Jadeja and Chakraborty.

The Indian team batting had a very poor start and both the openers – Rohit and Rahul went only till the third over. Both were out by Shaheen Afridi. Soon after this, Suryakumar Yadav also returned after getting out by Hasan Ali.

Left-arm pacer Shaheen Afridi has been honoured man of the match. Shaheen had taken the wicket of Rohit Sharma in the very first over and in the third over of the innings, KL Rahul was also bowled out. After this Babar took the wicket of Indian captain Virat Kohli, who scored a half-century. Shaheen gave 31 runs in his 4 overs and took 3 biggest wickets.
