SAVAN SHIVRATRI 2019: Know the Significance

Savan Shivratri has special significance in the Hindu religion. In every month, the Chaturdashi of Krishna Paksha is known as Shivratri, but Shivaratri coming in the month of Savan is considered to be fruitful. It is believed that like the Mahashivaratri that falls in the month of Phalgun, Sawan Shivaratri is also very pious. According to Hindu beliefs, the day of Lord Shiva is Monday and Savan is the best month of his worship. It is believed that in the month of Savan, Lord Shiva with his family resides on earth.

The importance of Savan Shivratri (Sawan Shivratri) for the devotees, especially the Shiva devotees, is of great importance. Siva Bhakta awaiting Sawan Shivaratri for the whole year. When the month of Savan arrives, they get out to take Kavad from Haridwar and Gaumukh (Gangotri)barefooted.

After walking several kilometers, they do Jalabhishek of their adorable Bholenath on the day of Shivaratri. It is believed that the devotees who worship Shiva Shankar with a true mind on the day of Savan Shivratri, God completes all his desires.
