Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has launched two new entry-level offerings in India – the Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+ as successors to the Redmi A1 and Redmi A1+ released in October 2022.  Both phones are entry-level offerings catering to users under Rs 10,000. The Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+ go on sale on May 23 at 12:00 noon across Amazon.in, Mi.com, Mi Home, and all retail partners.

The Redmi A2 smartphone is available in three storage variants:

• Price of Redmi A2 smartphone for 2GB + 32GB storage variant is Rs 5,999
• Price of Redmi A2 smartphone for 2GB + 64GB storage variant is  Rs 6,499
• Price of Redmi A2 smartphone for  4GB + 64GB variant is Rs 7,499

The Redmi A2+ snartphone is available in only one storage variant:

• Price of Redmi A2+ smartphone for 4GB + 64GB storage variant is Rs 8,499

Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+ Smartphone Specifications

Both Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+ come with a 6.52-inch HD+ 20:9 aspect ratio display with a screen resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels. The smartphones pack an octa-core MediaTek Helio G36 chipset with a clock speed of up to 2.2GHz. The Redmi A2 series runs on Android with a 120Hz touch sampling rate. Selfie cameras are housed in a waterdrop-style notch on the screen.  The Redmi A2 series offers a 5000mAh battery with support for 10W charging.

Both Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+ devices come with an 8MP rear camera, a 5MP front-facing camera.

Additionally, the Redmi A2+ gets a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. The dual-SIM smartphones support Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS + GLONASS, a Micro USB port, and a 3.5mm audio jack as connectivity options. Both the Redmi A2 and A2+ come in Sea Green, Aqua Blue, and Classic Black colors.

Xiaomi’s Redmi A2 series is equipped with 5,000mAh batteries with 10W fast charging support. A 32-day standby time is claimed, along with 150 hours of audio playback.
