Rabidranath Tagore was born on 7 May,1861 in Calcutta. Rabidranath Tagore  was the son of Mr. Debendranath Tagore and Mrs. Sarada Devi. Rabidranath Tagore was young when his mother passed away. His spouse was Mrinalini Devi. His father was a traveler and that is why he was nursed by maids and servants.

 In 1901, Tagore moved to Shanti Niketan ashram and opened a school in an open area.  He followed the Guru-Shisha traditional method of teaching. The School started with five students and they used to study under the trees. Rabidranath Tagore wife and two children passed away during this time. This incident  disturbed him and he started writing poetry stories and novels. Gradually  his work started growing and got an immense popularity in India as well as in foreign. He also got an award and Nobel Prize  in Literature. Rabidranath Tagore started to write Gitanjali in Bengali Language and afterwards translated his poems , songs to English. He traveled to about 30 countries from 1878 to 1932. There he took his literary work to other people who did not understand the Bengali language. At the Last stage Rabidrantah Tagore suffered from many diseases and died on 7 August, 1941.
