IPL 2020 Update: Mumbai Indians record their first win in UAE by beating KKR with 49 Runs

In the 13th season of Dream11 IPL 2020, Mumbai Indians (MI) recorded their first win in their second match. They defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 49 runs in the 5th match of the tournament in Abu Dhabi. With Batting first after losing the toss, Mumbai set a target of 196 runs. In response, Kolkata lost 9 wickets and could score just only 146 runs.

Mumbai captain Rohit Sharma was the man of the match with 80 runs. Rohit hit his 37th fifty in the IPL and became the second Indian to hit 200 sixes. Apart from them, Suryakumar Yadav scored 47, Saurabh Tiwary 21, and Hardik Pandya 18 runs. There was an 89-run partnership between Rohit and Surya Kumar for the second wicket. Due to this Mumbai lost 5 wickets and scored 195 runs. Shivam Mavi took 2 wickets For KKR, Sunil Narine and Andre Russell took one wicket each. From the KKR team, Pat Cummins scored the maximum 33 runs. Apart from him, Dinesh Kartik scored 30, Nitish Rana 24, and Russell 11 runs. For Mumbai, Jaspreet Bumrah, Trent Bolt, and James Pattinson took 2-2 wickets.

KKR lost the opening game for the first time in the last 8 seasons

For the first time since 2012, the Kolkata team has lost the opening match in IPL. 8 years ago, it defeated by the Delhi Daredevils with 8 wickets. Earlier, against Mumbai, KKR played their opening match twice (2014, 2015) and won both.
