The ICC issued an announcement stating that it’s been agreed among the member states that it’ll still explore contingency plans for the holding of the Men’s T20 tournament and also the 2021 Women’s Cricket tournament in October, but both tournament’s preparation will continue per the schedule. The T20 tournament is to be held in Australia from 18 October to 15 November.

The global pandemic situation is evolving rapidly and we want to give ourselves the best possible opportunity to make the right decision for the whole sport,” the ICC’s chief executive Manu Sawhney said. “The health and well-being of everyone involved is our priority and other considerations fallout from that.

We will only get one chance to make this decision and it needs to be the right one and as such we will continue to consult with our members, broadcasters, partners, governments, and players and to ensure that we make a well-informed decision.”
