World Hypertension Day: know your blood pressure before it’s too late

Every year on 17th May is dedicated as World Hypertension Day. The day is an initiative of the World Hypertension League, to spread awareness among the population regarding causes and consequences of High blood pressure. High blood pressure has become an epidemic nowadays. The theme for the World Hypertension day is Know your numbers with a goal of increasing High blood pressure.

It is termed as silent killer because people who are suffering from High blood pressure are unaware of its consequences. Many people are not able to find out that they are suffering from High Blood pressure. The symptoms are very common and everyone should know before its get too late. The common symptoms are a severe headache, Irregular heartbeat, Fatigue, eye problems, Chest pain, Difficulty in breathing. If hypertension persists for a long time, it can lead to Heart attack and Heart Stroke. So, it is advisable to always check your blood pressure on a regular basis to prevent fatal effects.
