World Diabetes Day: Protect your family from Diabetes

Every year on 14th November, to make people aware of the risks of diabetes, World Diabetes Day is celebrated. It is marked every year on 14 November, the birthday of Sir Frederick Banting, who co-discovered insulin along with Charles Best in 1922. Since 1991, IDF and the World Health Organization in response to growing concerns about the escalating health threat posed by diabetes started celebrating World Diabetes Day.

Every year World Diabetes Day focuses on a dedicated theme. The theme for World Diabetes Day 2019 is Family and Diabetes. The campaign is represented by a blue circle logo which represents the global symbol for diabetes awareness. Families are urged to know about the harmful effects of Diabetes and the risk of type 2 Diabetes. If people are unable to detect the signs of diabetes, it can lead to harmful diseases like blindness, amputation, kidney failure, heart attack, and stroke.

So this November, on world diabetes day, take the diabetes awareness assessment test for your family and protect your family from deadly diabetes as 50 percent of the diabetes is detectable.
