Hisar 13 November: In view of the increasingly alarming levels of pollution in cities across the country, including Haryana, the government should issue a statutory warning for such cities, like cigarette boxes, that living in these cities is harmful to health. This was stated by Swami Sahajanand Nath, the founder of Mission Green Foundation, expressing concern over air pollution that has crossed dangerous levels. He said that the government should put such warning boards on the routes entering from around the city. Along with this, the government should also put up display boards showing the scale of pollution level so that people make adequate preparations for it. When the level of pollution increases, the local administration should take action immediately. The pollution level in Hisar city has reached the level of 461 which is many times more than the normal level whereas, in New York, Paris, Tokyo does not exceed 75.

Sahajanand Nath said that our governments are not serious about the environment. Instead of curbing pollution, it is increasing day by day. Other cities including Hisar are in bad condition due to smog and pollution and do not know when the government will wake up. The Prime Minister has also expressed concern about increasing pollution in particular, but the Haryana Government and the Department of Pollution are not taking the relevant steps and the situation of pollution is getting worse.

He said that Hisar has come to the number one position in the country with regard to pollution, that’s why the government should immediately take drastic and effective steps in this regard, otherwise, the situation will become uncontrollable in the coming days. In this regard, common people will also have to be aware of and everyone should contribute at every level to ensure that our environment does not get more polluted.
 

The “Gogreen initiative” has been launched in association with Haryana State Pollution Control Board to create awareness about the need to increase the forest cover to address air pollution, which is the theme of this year’s World Environment Day celebrated on June 5.

To reduce the impact of air pollution, planting trees is one of the significant efforts to fight against air pollution,” Dr. Tarun Sapra said in a statement.

An initiative of planting seeds will encourage people to make a positive contribution to improving the green cover.

Dr. Dinesh Sehgal said, “protecting and saving the environment is the responsibility of every individual and through this initiative, we are encouraging people to plant trees and improve their health.

Many elders, women, and children under the supervision of the artist Harish and Lalit visarwal took part in this campaign. In today’s expedition, Municipal Commissioner Gautam Sardana also took part and appreciated the work of the team and raised the confidence of the members.

The wall that was roasted yesterday, was shining today.  In addition to regular members, many newcomers today volunteered in this work.  Today’s campaign includes Pankaj Mehta, Prem Taneja, Neeraj Manchanda, Ram Kamra, Ashok Chawla, Vikrant Kathuria, Kirti Goyal, Rima Sardana, Mohit Chugh, JD Mehta, Dinesh Popali, Surendra Sethi, Harikishan Khanna, Only Krishna Gakhar, Ashwini Pahwa  , Sombir Verma, Ajay Garg, RJ Suhani, Satish Verma, Garima, Vipin, Anurag, Sunidhi, Satish Verma, Neelam, Sanjay Garg, Monika and a large number of children too.

Today’s campaign includes Rakesh Agrawal, Sushil Khirinta, Manish Goyal, Trilok Bansal, Dr. Suresh Chopra, Manish Goyal CA, Dr. S. K. Garg, Dr. RK Grover, Vishal Agarwal, Satyendra Yaduvanshi, Ashok Gupta Monalisa, Arvind Munjal, Dr.  Raj Verma, Dr. Sandeep Gupta, Ajay Kumar, Nitish, Mohit, Warveer Singh, Deepak Pawar, Dr. Vijay Kadyan, Ajay Garg, Gaurav Pahuja, Sunil Kakkar, Sanjay Kathpalia, Gagan Mehta, Jitendra Bansal, Ajay Koo  Mar, Pankaj Chadha, Deepak Gupta, Nawab, Dharmaveer Bandy, Lalit Rumwal, Vikas Gondar, Harish Banga etc. were included.

Among the women, Jyothi Goyal, Shakuntala Agarwal, Kiran Bansal, Anita Sharma, Ranju Goyal, Divya Agarwal etc participated in the campaign.  Sandeep, Ravi, Preet, Utsav, Shyamash, Praeti, Vedanta, Law, Gauri, Tomisha, Yagna, Kashavi Kadyan, Goal, Viraj, Bhanu, Gauri, Garvita, Eastern Bansal, Keshavi Agarwal, Angel, Bhavya, Gagan, Dinesh etc. are the young generation who have participated in the event.

The event was first celebrated nationally in 1970, but its inception began following a massive oil spill in Santa Barbara, CA in 1969. Earth day continued to grow over the years. In 1990, it went global, and 200 million people in 141 countries participated in the event, according to the Earth day Network.

It’s not a day to only wish happy Earth day and not doing anything for the mother Earth. We should pledge not to harm the environment, will do less use of plastic, focus on resuse, recycle policy, planting trees and saving the endangered species. All living things have an intrinsic value and play an important role in the web of life. We all have to work together to save our Mother Earth.

The day is organized to spread awareness for conserving the biodiversity of species so as to maintain the ecological balance. As sparrows are tiny creatures but their existence matter a lot to the environment. We should place water bowls and some grains on our rooftop to fed them and plant as many trees as possible to give them their natural habitat.  Thus conserving and saving them from getting extinct is our moral duty.

The rally was started by Sh. Paramjit Chahal (SDM, Hisar). About 600 participants were there which include many sports personalities, youth, adult and people from various departments. Sh. Ganga Dutt Yadav (District Sports Authority) and district head of all oil companies were there to grace the occasion. The rally reached the destination after 5 km walk and everyone in the public take oath to conserve the petrol and to increase the use of cycle in their routine life.
