The restaurant partners are also informed that Amazon’s food delivery business services will be closed till December 29. E-commerce website Amazon has also assured to meet all “payment and other contractual obligations” of its partners within the same period. Along with this, the Amazon company will provide access to Amazon tools and reports to all partners till January 31.

The amazon food delivery announcement means that after 29 December 2022, no customer will get delivery of any order through Amazon Food. Amazon Food started as a competition with e-commerce websites like Swiggy and Zomato in India. This food delivery service was launched in Bangalore in May 2020. And by March 2021, Amazon Food had expanded to 62 points in Bangalore city.

A day after announcing the closure of Amazon food delivery business services in India, it was learned that the company is also going to shut down Amazon Academy, which was started for high-school students.  IIT- Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur has postponed JEE Advanced 2021 examination keeping present condition of COVID 19. The Joint Entrance Examination Advanced was scheduled to be conducted on July 3, 2021. The official notice is available on the official site of JEE Advanced on jeeadv.ac.in.

The official notice reads, “Considering the prevailing pandemic situation due to COVID-19, JEE (Advanced) 2021 which was scheduled to be held on July 03, 2021 (Saturday) stands postponed. The revised date of examination will be announced at an appropriate time.”

The JEE Advanced has two papers- Paper I and Paper-II. Paper I was scheduled to be conducted from 9 am to 12 noon and Paper II was scheduled to be conducted from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm. Candidates who qualify for the JEE Main examination are eligible to apply for JEE advanced examination. Earlier the National testing agency (NTA) has postponed the JEE MAINS May 2021 session.

The National Florence Nightingale Award is given every year on 12 May. It was started in 1973 by the Ministry of Family and Welfare, Government of India. The Orange Zone includes districts where the number of corona patients is low and there is less risk of infection. Since there are Covid-19 patients here, they cannot be kept in the Green Zone and they are not kept in the Red Zone as the danger is not high. To fight with the novel coronavirus, scientists and researchers have been working endlessly to develop appropriate treatment for patients infected with the COVID-19. During testing the researchers have come across the Convalescent Plasma therapy to treat the novel coronavirus infection. Countries such as China and the US have already started the clinical trials of the Convalescent Plasma Therapy due to the absence of a coronavirus-specific treatment.

What is Convalescent Plasma Therapy?

When a pathogen like a coronavirus infects the immune system, and in return, the immune system started producing antibodies. Antibodies are a type of protein discharged by immune cells called B lymphocytes whenever they come in contact with a foreign attacker like COVID-19. White blood cells attack the identified invaders, and the body gets rid of the infection.

It is necessary to examine the prospect before extracting the blood serum and must be declared cured. The plasma therapy is not simple to implement, especially due to the problem in obtaining significant amounts of plasma from survivors. In diseases like novel coronavirus, where most patients with severe symptoms are aged, and also suffer from other medical conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and so on, the effectiveness remains questionable.

Is it effective?

The convalescent serum has been used during past viral epidemics such as H1N1 Influenza virus in 2009 and the Ebola outbreak in 2018. It is not yet clear that which process will be followed by COVID-19 antibodies to fight the disease. However, it is expected that the infusion of plasma will promote acquired immunity until the patient develops their targeted ability to combat the virus. According to tests conducted on Coronavirus patients in China, therapy came out as a promising option for severe cases.

 The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has allowed Kerala to conduct plasma therapy. Kerala is the first state in the country that has been permitted to undertake this out. However, ICMR does not recommend it as a treatment option.
