Swatantra Veer Savarkar first look: On the occasion of Veer Savarkar Jayanti on Saturday, Randeep Hooda shared the first look from his upcoming movie Swatantra Veer Savarkar. He is playing the lead role of Veer Savarkar in the movie.

Swatantra Veer Savarkar is the official biopic of politician and activist Vinayak Damodar Savarkar. It is the Veer Savarkar’s 139th birth anniversary on Saturday, and on this occasion,  Randeep Hooda who  is playing the lead role took to social media to share the Swatantra Veer Savarkar  first look and motion poster.

Taking to Twitter, Randeep Hooda shared a poster of the film, which shows him as Savarkar. The actor wrote in the caption, “A salute to one of the tallest unsung heroes of India’s struggle for freedom & self-actualisation. hope I can live up to the challenge of filling such big shoes of a true revolutionary & tell his real story which had been brushed under the carpet for so long #VeerSavarkarJayanti

The film is directed by Mahesh Manjrekar and produced by Anand Pandit, Sandeep Singh, and Sam khan . The film does not have an official release date yet.

 Who was Vinayak Damodar Savarkar ?

Vinayak Damodar Savarkar was an Indian freedom fighter, politician, social reformer, Marathi poet and writer, born in  Nashik on May 28, 1883 . He was also a Hindu philosopher and pioneer of language purification and script purification movements. He was the president of the 1938 Sahitya Sammelan and the originator of the concept of ‘ Hindutva ‘ and was the proponent of comprehensive Hindutva.
