Before the all-new Maruti Swift’s launch in India on May 9, Maruti Suzuki publicly revealed the vehicle. Additionally, the company has started accepting bookings for a nominal fee of Rs 11,000, which can be paid online or at dealerships. This hatchback, trendy in India, is set to enter its fourth generation. The all-new Maruti Swift boasts a new heart, an interior inspired by more expensive Maruti vehicles, and evolutionary styling.

New Maruti Suzuki Swift exterior and interior

With its rounded curves and bulbous nose, the new Swift has a very familiar shape and posture, and its design is more evolutionary than that of the outgoing model. The new Maruti Swift will have the same wheelbase as the current model, but it will be slightly longer and thinner and have distinctive bumpers and alloy wheels.

The all-new Maruti Swift’s interior is brand-new but recognizable because it has components in common with the Fronx and Baleno. While there are some minor differences between the dashboard panels but the casing of the 9.0-inch touchscreen, the infotainment system, steering wheel, HVAC controls with toggle switches, and door switchgear are all too familiar.

New Maruti Suzuki Swift powertrain, specs

The most exciting thing about the new Maruti Swift is that it gets an all-new powertrain under the bonnet. The current K12 four-cylinder engine will be replaced by a brand-new, 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine. Maruti has set high goals for fuel efficiency. Power and torque outputs are expected to be comparable to the 90 horsepower and 113 Nm of the previous K12; mild hybrid technology may also be available.

It’s unclear, though, if Maruti will stick with the AMT or replace the gearbox with the 6-speed torque converter used on other Maruti models.
