BMW i5 Electric Car LAUNCHED IN INDIA AT Rs. 1.20 Crore; Know Details

The BMW i5 launched in India on April 26, 2024, and is available for Rs 1.20 crore, ex-showroom. The highest-spec M60 xDrive model of the i5 has been only imported into India through the CBU procedure.
Following the introduction of the i5, BMW now offers five electric vehicles (EVs) for sale in India: the iX1, iX xDrive50, i4, and i7. The flagship electric sedan is also offered in i7 M70 xDrive configuration.
BMW i5 RANGE, Battery, and Charge
The BMW i5 M60 xDrive has an 83.9kWh (81.2kWh usable) battery pack that offers 516 kilometers of range on a single charge. Two electric motors, one on each axle, are powered by the battery and provide a combined output of 601 horsepower and 795 Nm of torque. BMW claims that this version of the i5 can reach a top speed of 230 mph and go from 0 to 100 mph in 3.8 seconds.
The BMW i5 EV can be charged at 205 kW DC for 10 to 80 per cent charge in less than 30 minutes.
BMW i5 EXTERIOR, COLOUR OPTIONS
The BMW i5 EV, introduced in India has the traditional kidney grille with lights and a blanked-off design (completed in glossy black plastic).
Under the slender headlights, which are equipped with two LED DRLs stacked vertically in each unit, is the more aggressive bumper featuring wider intakes. The side skirt and flush-fitting door handles are paired with brand-new 20-inch alloy wheels wearing 275/35 R20 tires on the back and 245/40 R20 tires on the front.
The i5’s rear taillights are slim LED units with a chrome separation separating the two LED elements, following the style of the new 7 Series.
BMW will provide the i5 in one non-metallic Alpine White paint in India.
The colors M Brooklyn Grey, M Carbon Black, Cape York Green, Phytonic Blue, Black Sapphire, Sophiosto Grey, Oxide Grey, and Mineral White are examples of metallic exterior paint tints.
BMW i5 INTERIOR FEATURES
The BMW i5 for India has a 14.9-inch infotainment touchscreen with gaming and video capabilities, running the most recent version of BMW’s iDrive 8.5 operating system. It also has a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. It is controlled with a controller that looks familiar on the centre console; in fact, the center console and its 15-color ambient lighting system resemble that of the i7.
Naturally, the M60 receives a number of M-specific upgrades, including a flat-bottom M leather-wrapped steering wheel, performance-based displays for the infotainment and instrument cluster, and carbon fiber trim on the dashboard (a dark silver accent with a wood trim is available as an optional extra). Sports seats with an active cooling feature, a black roof lining, a Bowers & Wilkins audio system, a panoramic sunroof, 4-zone climate control, a 360-degree camera, and more are standard on the i5.
The i5 comes with a regular 2-year/unlimited-kilometre guarantee from BMW India, but its battery has an 8-year/1.6 lakh-kilometer warranty.
