On 27th of August, 2023, the world of athletics witnessed an extraordinary performance of the Indian Javelin thrower, Neeraj Chopra. He secured a gold medal in men’s javelin throw and became the first Indian athlete to win World Athletic Championships 2023 in Budapest. 

The 25 years old Neeraj Chopra, famously known as the ‘Golden boy of Indian Athletics’ carved his name in sports history with his incredible performance. In the second attempt, his javelin soared through the air and covered an impressive distance of 88.17 meters which was the highest in the whole event. His throw not only got him a gold medal but also set a new personal best record. 

Neeraj Chopra is now no. 1 Javelin thrower of the world. His previous achievement, especially the historic gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics, helped to solidify his position among the athletes. His admirers, political leaders and fellow athletes from all around the world congratulated him for his success.
