On 11th November 2019, it is the 131^st birthday of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, the country’s first Education Minister. He was the first Education Minister of India after the independence of India. He was a freedom fighter, educationist, and writer. On his birthday, November 11 is celebrated every year as National Education Day in India.

In 2008, The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) decided to celebrate ‘National Education Day’ on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad.
