Moto G42 with core Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 SoC launched in India; budget smartphone available for sale from July 11

On Monday, the Moto G42 was released in India. Newly launched Motorola‘s G42 is a budget smartphone. It is the successor to the Moto G41, which was released last year in Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East. The Moto G42 features with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 SoC, 20W fast charging, 20:9 AMOLED display and three rear cameras.

Moto G42 price in India

The 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant of the Moto G42 costs Rs. 13,999 in India. The phone will be available in Atlantic Green and Metallic Rosé colors and will be available for purchase on Flipkart and select retail stores across the country beginning July 11. The Moto G42’s launch offers include an Rs. 1,000 discount for customers having SBI cards.

Moto G42 specifications

The Moto G42 dual-SIM (Nano) smartphone runs on Android 12 and has a 6.4-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,400 pixel) AMOLED display with a 20:9 aspect ratio and a refresh rate of 60Hz. The Snapdragon 680 SoC, Adreno 610 GPU, and 4GB of LPDDR4x RAM power the phone. The Moto G42 comes with 64GB of onboard uMCP storage that can be expanded via microSD card (up to 1TB) via a dedicated slot.

Moto G42 Camera

It has a triple rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.8 lens, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide and depth shooter, and a 2-megapixel macro shooter. For selfies and video chats, the Moto G42 has a 16-megapixel selfie camera sensor with an f/2.2 lens on the front.

The Moto G42 comes with dual stereo speakers and Dolby Atmos support. The phone has an IP52 water-repellent rating.

Moto G42 Connectivity

The Moto G42 has 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, FM radio, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C, NFC and a 3.5mm headphone jack for connectivity. An accelerometer, gyroscope, ambient light, proximity sensor, and magnetometer are among the sensors on board. The phone also has a fingerprint sensor on the side.

Moto G42 Battery Performance

The Moto G42 comes with a 5,000mAh battery that supports 20W TurboPower fast charging (a compatible charger is included in the box) and is rated to last for more than 30 hours on a single charge.
