ISRO’s Mission Moon, Ready to Go!!!!

After the successful mission of “Chandrayaan 1” now Indian Space Research Organization(ISRO)is set to launch its “Chandrayaan 2 spacecraft” to the Moon on Monday. The 20-hours of the countdown to the moon have started.

According to ISRO, The countdown started on Sunday at 6:51 a.m., The rocket which is going to lift “Chandrayaan -2 Spacecraft” is the heaviest rocket of ISRO which is nicknamed “Bahubali”.

The Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle-Mark III (GSLV-Mk III) weigh 640-tonne is a 44-metre tall rocket which will carry the 3.8 tonnes “Chandrayaan-2 spacecraft”. The “Chandrayaan- 2” spacecraft will carry “Lander Vikram” & “Rover-Pragyaan” which will further investigate the Moon surface. The rocket will travel to the Moon and on 6 Sept the Lander Vikram is expected to make a soft landing on the Moon surface. The distance between Earth and Moon is nearly 384,400 Kms.

If the landing is successful then India will become the 4th country to soft-land on Moon after US, Russia & China.
