Indian Origin Parag Agrawal appointed as Twitter CEO, Dorsey resigned

Jack Dorsey, the co-founder of micro-blogging site Twitter, has decided to resign as the company’s CEO. At his place, Parag Agrawal of Indian origin will now be the new CEO of Twitter. Dorsey has praised Parag Agrawal while appointing him to the post of CEO.
At present, Parag Agrawal is working as CTO i.e. Chief Technology Officer in Twitter. As CTO, Parag Agrawal was working on artificial intelligence (AI) panel on Twitter. Jack Dorsey praised Parag Agrawal and said that he has deep faith in Parag. According to Dorsey, Parag Agrawal started his career as an engineer at Twitter. Now he is going to take over as CEO.
After being appointed as the CEO of Twitter, Parag Agrawal has expressed his gratitude to Jack Dorsey on Twitter. He wrote that he is very honoured and humbled and grateful for Dorsey’s continued mentorship and friendship.
Dorsey will remain on company’s board
Jack Dorsey has resigned as CEO, but he will remain a board member of the company. Sharing a letter on his Twitter account, he expressed grief over leaving the post. However, in the letter, he has written that he is very happy and it is his own decision.
Dorsey said that after nearly 16 years of working at the company from co-founder to CEO, then president, executive chairman, interim-CEO to CEO, I decided it was finally time for me to leave. Parag Agrawal is becoming our CEO.
