Group Captain Varun Singh- the only survivor of chopper crash died; PM condoles on his demise

Today was the last day for Group Captain Varun Singh, the sole survivor of the helicopter crash in Coonoor, Tamil Nadu. He fought the life battle for 8 days.
Mi-17 V5 helicopter crashed in Coonoor, Tamil Nadu, on December 8, in which CDS Bipin Rawat along with his wife lost their life, the only survivor from the accident Group Captain Varun Singh also passed away. On 9th December, captain Varun Singh was moved from wellingtons’ military to the command hospital, after getting the major treatment.
On the official account of IAF twitter, Information about the death of Varun Singh was given, “IAF is deeply saddened to inform the passing away of braveheart Group Captain Varun Singh, who succumbed this morning to the injuries sustained in the helicopter accident on 08 Dec 21. IAF offers sincere condolences and stands firmly with the bereaved family.”
PM Narendra Modi also tweeted about Varun Singh demise “Group Captain Varun Singh served the nation with pride, valour and utmost professionalism. I am extremely anguished by his passing away. His rich service to the nation will never be forgotten. Condolences to his family and friends. Om Shanti.”
Rajnath Singh condoled group captain by tweeting “Pained beyond words to learn of the demise of IAF pilot, Group Captain Varun Singh. He was a true fighter who fought till his last breath. My thoughts and deepest condolences are with his family and friends. We stand firmly with the family, in this hour of grief.”
