As salons are shut down due to the attack of COVID 19, many of you are missing pampering of skin and hair at salons. So what if salons are shut, self-care is always open and it can’t stop you from taking care of your skin and hairs. Coronavirus lockdown is the best time to pay attention to your skin because you are spending most of the time indoors, so there is no damage occurring to the skin due to the exposure of sunlight and pollution. So just by using kitchen ingredients, you can give your skin and hair an extra dose of happiness.

Here are 10 tips to care for your skin and hair.

1.Vegetable ice pack

Grind cucumber, tomato, and potato and placed it in ice-tray and freeze. Apply this ice cube all over your face in circular motions every morning, let it dry and wash it. This ice pack will make your skin glow and remove tan.

To remove your dark circles, Take two spoon and keep them in the freezer for 10 minutes and gently place frozen spoons on your eyes for 5 minutes.

3. Natural cleansers

The lockdown may result in a shortage of your favorite moisturizer or cleanser in the stores. So why not go for natural cleansers that are available in your kitchen:

  • Dry skin– take 1 tablespoon of milk and a pinch of turmeric. Apply this mixture for 10 minutes. This will make your skin soft.
  • Oily skincurd is the best cleanser for oily skin. Just massage your skin with curd and let it stay for 10-15 minutes then wash it off with water.

 Using these remedies twice or thrice a week will make you forget your favorite moisturizer.

4. Natural scrub

To exfoliate your skin at home natural ingredients like coffee, sugar, and oatmeal are always a good option. You can mix them with other ingredients like:

  • Coffee powder+ yogurt
  • Sugar+ honey
  • Lemon juice+ oatmeal+ olive oil

All these face scrubs can help in removing dead skin. But be gentle and soft while doing scrubbing.

5. Natural Face Mist

Make a face mist by adding rosewater, aloe vera gel, cucumber juice, and lemon juice. Store this mist in your refrigerator and spray it on your face regularly after washing your face.

6. Oil Massage on hair

 Massaging hair with oil is an old-age remedy. Gently massage your hair for 15 minutes with coconut oil, olive oil, almond oil, or any oil that you like. Oil massage nourishes your scalp and helps you to get rid of dryness, dandruff, and frizz.

7. Hot Towel Spa

Hot towel wrap is the best way to the spa at home and it deeply nourishes your hair. Dip your towel into warm water, strain excess water, and wrap it around your head. Keep it for 6-8 minutes and then shampoo your hair.

Processed food has a bad effect on both skin and body. Eat fruits, vegetables, and salads as much as you can. Take a light meal with fewer spices, and watch your skin and body glow.

These are some of the very easy and DIY home care remedies that anyone can do and most importantly, the ingredients will be available in the home easily, you don’t have to go and buy anything special. It seems that Lockdown is an excellent opportunity to stick to a skincare regime if in the past you have not had any time.
