2021 BMW 5 Series India launch: Germany’s luxury vehicle manufacturer BMW (BMW) has launched its new 2021 BMW 5 Series (2021 BMW 5 Series) in the Indian market at an initial ex-showroom price of Rs. 62.9 lakhs. The car is locally made at the company’s Chennai plant. The 2021 BMW 5 Series is Rs 2.8 lakh more expensive than the previous 5 Series sedan and many new features have also been included in the car.

The new BMW 5 Series styling and updates further enhance its value. It offers an unmatched combination of the latest features with multiple driver assistance systems such as remote control parking, BMW heads-up display, reversing assistant, parking assistant, BMW gesture control.

The new 2021 BMW 5 Series price

The new 5 Series has been launched in one petrol (BMW 530i M Sport) and two diesel variants (BMW 530d M Sport and BMW 520d Luxury line). The ex-showroom price of the base variant BMW 530i M Sport (530i M Sport) of this luxury sedan car starts at Rs.62.9 lakhs. At the same time, the price of the mid-spec BMW 520d Luxury Line (520d Luxury Line) is Rs 63.9 lakhs ex-showroom. While the ex-showroom price of the top-spec BMW 530d M Sport (530d M Sport) is Rs 71.9Lakhs.

BMW has announced that customers booking the new 5 Series online till July 24 will get attractive offers on limited units of the M Sport variant. They will be able to avail up to 50% off on a select range of 5 Series M performance accessories.

Engine, Power and Speed of BMW 5 Series sedan

The 2021 BMW 5 Series 530i M Sport is available with a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine that produces 252 hp of power and 350 Nm of peak torque. This car can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 6.1 seconds.

At the same time, its 520d luxury line gets a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbo-diesel engine. This engine generates 190 hp power and 400 Nm torque. This car accelerates from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 7.3 seconds.

Whereas, the BMW 5 Series 530d M Sport is powered by a 3.0-liter 6-cylinder turbo-diesel engine that generates 265 hp of power and 620 Nm of torque. This car is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 5.7 seconds.

Driving Modes

The eight-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission makes it very easy to change gears. For even more excellent driving pleasure, it gets features like steering wheel paddle shifters and cruise control with braking function. The self-leveling feature along with the adaptive suspension individually controlled electrically controlled dampers provide better accuracy and improve drive and handling dynamics. Damper response settings can vary depending on the mode selected with the Driving Experience Control switch, allowing the driver to choose between different modes to suit the driving state – Comfort, Sport, ECO PRO, and Adaptive. The M Sport variants get an additional Sport Mode for a sportier driving experience.

 The BMW Live Cockpit Professional includes 3D navigation, a 12.3. inch fully digital instrument display behind the steering wheel and a larger 12.3.inch control display. Passengers in the vehicle can operate multiple functions by simply speaking to their BMW virtual assistant. There is an amazing synergy between the hands and the BMW Gesture Control which recognizes six pre-defined movements of the hands to control multiple functions. Apart from this, it has Harman Kardon surround sound system, high-end 16 speaker system with woofers, which is world-unique in the automotive sector. The BMW heads-up-display (530d) projects all necessary information for travel directly into the driver’s field of vision. With the help of BMW Display, the driver can maintain contact with his car round the clock.

The new BMW 5 Series is equipped with best-in-class cutting-edge driver assistance systems. Parking Assistant Plus with Surround View Camera makes parking in tight spaces easy. The newly introduced Reversing Assistant provides unmatched convenience in reversing the vehicle from parking spaces or on narrow roads. The Comfort Access system allows all four doors of the car to be opened without using a key. It also gets a tire pressure monitoring system that informs about the low air pressure.

 BMW safety technologies include Six Airbags, Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) with Brake Assist, Attention Assistance, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) with Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Corning Brake Control (CBC), electric parking brake with auto hold, Electronic Differential Lock Control (EDLC), side-impact protection, electronic vehicle immobilizer and crash sensors, ISOFIX child seat mounting, and emergency spare wheel.
