Human body needs various elements for growth and development during his life cycle. The right balance of carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins, minerals, fats, and calories are essential to grow, develop and stay healthy.

Vitamins are those organic compounds which are essential for normal growth and nutrition and are required in small quantities in the diet because they cannot be synthesized by the body. Vitamins are of two types, fat-soluble or water-soluble. Fat-soluble vitamins are stored in the fatty tissues of the body and the liver. Vitamins A, D, E, and K are fat-soluble. Water-soluble vitamins do not stay in the body for long. The body cannot store them, and they are soon excreted out. Vitamin C and all the B vitamins are water soluble.

B complex vitamins play an important role in maintaining human body functions. Vitamin B7—commonly known as biotin—stands apart from all B-complex with its role in keeping skin, hair, and nails healthy. It has vital role in metabolism of carbohydrates and fats. Without it, many enzymes that help in metabolism of  carbohydrates and fats do not work properly.  The deficiency of biotin or Vitamin B-7 can cause fatigue, dry skin, brittle hair/hair loss, intestinal tract problems and nervous system issues.

To overcome the deficiency or to prevent hair, nails and skin to get dull, one should have proper diet and supplements having vitamin B-7. He should try to get enough biotin from the diet, as dietary biotin will bring other beneficial nutrients that work alongside it. The important sources of  biotin are Beef liver, Eggs, Salmon, Avocado, Cheese. If  provided food is not able to fulfill the required amount of  Vitamin B-7, then supplements should be taken.

They naturally support healthy hair growth as it is involved in the production of keratin, the main component of hair. It helps in fighting the signs of aging because it has role in fatty acid synthesis that can protect skin damage from exposure to wind, sun, and other harsh environment. It also helps in maintaining healthy metabolism, proper functioning of heart, brain health and keeping blood sugar level low.
