Rekha Gupta, a first-time BJP MLA from Shalimar Bagh, is sworn in as Delhi’s fourth woman chief minister on Thursday. The grand oath-taking ceremony took place at Ramlila Ground, marking the BJP’s return to power in Delhi after 27 years, with the party winning 48 out of 70 seats in the assembly elections.

The swearing-in event started at 11 AM and ended by 1 PM, with Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena administering the oath. Several key leaders attended, including PM Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President JP Nadda, and chief ministers of BJP-led states.

Key Cabinet Appointments

Shortly after taking charge, CM Rekha Gupta allocated government portfolios. She decided to keep the finance department for herself, while Parvesh Verma was given charge of the Water and PWD departments. Other BJP leaders, including Ashish Sood, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Raviraj Indraj Singh, Kapil Mishra, and Pankaj Kumar Singh, also took oath as ministers.

Mahila Samridhi Yojana – ₹2,500 Aid for Women

In her first announcement as CM, Rekha Gupta confirmed that eligible women will receive ₹2,500 per month under the Mahila Samridhi Yojana, with the first payment to be credited by March 8.
