RAKSHA BANDHAN: A day to celebrate eternal bond between brother- sister

The festival of Rakshabandhan gives a strong love base to the sacred relationship of Brother-Sister. The festival celebrated on the day of Shravan Purnima has historical, social, religious and national importance. This year, the festival is being celebrated on 15th August 2019 along with Independence day. On this auspicious day, a sister ties protection thread or rakhi on brother’s wrist and wishes for his longevity, life, and safety. Bounded by the sister’s affection, the brother is determined to protect her. This festival strengthens the self-bond, as well as develops socialism within us. Not only this, but the festival also increases awareness of our duties towards family, society, country and the world. The importance of this day is so much that even if a sister cannot meet her brother on this day, he still sends a Rakhi to them by post.
