OnePlus has launched two new smartphones in India: OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 12R. Let us know about their variants and specifications. 

Display

• OnePlus 12: 6.82-inch QHD+ LTPO AMOLED with 120Hz refresh rate. This panel offers smoother scrolling, higher contrast, and more vivid colors thanks to LTPO technology that adjusts the refresh rate dynamically based on content.
• OnePlus 12R: 6.78-inch curved OLED ProXDR with 120Hz refresh rate and 1.5K resolution. This display is excellent for viewing multimedia content with its immersive curved design and vibrant colors. However, the lower resolution compared to the 12 might be noticeable for some users.

Processor and Performance

• OnePlus 12: Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the latest and most powerful chipset from Qualcomm. Offers top-notch performance for gaming, multitasking, and intensive tasks.
• OnePlus 12R: Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, still a competent processor but a step down from the Gen 3 in the 12. Nonetheless, it delivers ample performance for most users and handles everyday tasks without any hiccups.

Camera

• OnePlus 12: Triple rear camera system with a 50MP Sony IMX890 main sensor, 64MP telephoto lens, and 48MP ultrawide lens. Hasselblad branding signifies co-developed software optimizations for improved image quality and color science.
• OnePlus 12R: Triple rear camera system with a 50MP Sony IMX766 main sensor, 8MP ultrawide lens, and 2MP macro lens. It lacks the telephoto lens and Hasselblad collaboration of the 12, potentially resulting in less versatility and zoom capabilities.

Battery and Charging

• OnePlus 12: 5000mAh battery with 100W SuperVOOC charging. This allows for rapid charging, taking the battery from 0 to 100% in about 30 minutes.
• OnePlus 12R: 5500mAh battery with 100W SuperVOOC charging. Offering a slightly larger battery than the 12 might translate to longer battery life depending on usage.

Software and Features

• Processor: Both Phones run OxygenOS 14 based on Android 14. This custom UI is known for its clean design, smooth performance, and customization options. However, some prefer the stock Android experience, which might not be ideal for them.

Design and Build

• OnePlus 12: Premium design with a glass back and metal frame. Available in Flowy Emerald and Silky Black colors.
• OnePlus 12R: Plastic back with a metal frame, making it lighter but potentially feeling less premium compared to the 12. Available in Iron Gray and Cool Blue colors.

Price

• OnePlus 12: Starts at Rs. 64,999 for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant, offering higher storage options.
• OnePlus 12R: Starts at Rs. 39,999 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant, making it a more affordable option.
