Batting first, RR posted a total of 151 for 9 in their allotted 20 overs. Dhruv Jurel top-scored with 33 runs off 28 balls, while Riyan Parag contributed a quick 25 off 15 deliveries. KKR’s spin duo, Varun Chakravarthy and Moeen Ali, were instrumental in restricting RR’s scoring, each claiming two wickets with economical spells.

In response, KKR chased down the target comfortably, finishing at 153 for 2 in 17.3 overs. Opener Quinton de Kock was the standout performer, remaining unbeaten with a stellar 97 off 61 balls, an innings that included eight fours and six sixes. He was well-supported by young Angkrish Raghuvanshi, who scored 22 not out from 17 balls, guiding KKR to a comprehensive win.

Moeen Ali’s all-round contribution was noteworthy. Stepping in for the unwell Sunil Narine, Moeen delivered a tidy bowling performance, taking 2 for 23 in his four overs. His dismissals of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Nitish Rana were pivotal in stifling RR’s batting momentum.

Pacer Vaibhav Arora also played a crucial role, claiming the important wickets of RR captain Sanju Samson and impact substitute Shubham Dubey. His early breakthrough and disciplined bowling during the powerplay set the tone for KKR’s dominance.

This victory marks KKR’s first win of the IPL 2025 season, providing a significant boost to their campaign. The team’s balanced performance, highlighted by de Kock’s batting masterclass and effective bowling from both spinners and pacers, underscores their potential as strong contenders in this year’s tournament.
