Hiroshima Day 2020: marking the 75 years of Devastation

During the Second World War, the US dropped a nuclear bomb on Hiroshima, Japan on August 6, 1945. This day is known as Hiroshima Day. The bomb that was dropped on Hiroshima was called a little boy having 9700 pounds (4400 kg), length 10 feet, and diameter 28 inches. The bomb contained 6.4 kg of plutonium. It was the first nuclear attack in which lakhs of people were affected and killed. After this attack, the second bomb ‘Fat Man’ was thrown on Nagasaki city on 9 August.

The nuclear bomb was dropped from its designated target due to air and fell at a surgical clinic. The temperature generated by the bomb was about 4,000 degrees Celsius. The radiation emitted from the bomb impacted people for many years.

Surrender of JAPAN : End of Devastation

A third nuclear attack on Japan was to take place on 17 August or 18 August. Japan finally surrendered on 14 August as the Soviet Union also declared war against Japan. With the surrender of Japan, the most devastating attack got stopped and people were saved.

Hiroshima Day 2020

Hiroshima day is marked in the memory of people who lost their lives in the atomic bomb attack. This year in 2020, the Hiroshima devastation is completing its 75 years.
