Hisar, November 14, 2025:
In a commendable effort to promote children’s eye health and early detection of vision-related issues, Gobind Nursing Home, Hisar, organized a Free Eye Screening Camp on Children’s Day at Lahoria School. The initiative reflects the institution’s ongoing commitment to community healthcare, especially for young students who may be unaware of underlying vision problems.
The screening camp was led by renowned ophthalmologist Dr. Ripan Kaur Kamra (MBBS, MS Ophthalmology), who conducted thorough eye examinations for students. The camp included checking visual acuity, screening for refractive errors, identifying signs of squint, color vision assessment, and examining the overall health of the eyes.

A significant number of students participated in the event. Parents and teachers were advised on the next steps, including follow-up evaluations and timely treatments where required.
Speaking about the initiative, Dr. Ripan Kaur Kamra emphasized the importance of early screening:
“Children may not always express or understand when their vision is declining. Regular eye check-ups play a critical role in ensuring healthy vision and preventing complications later in life. We are glad to contribute to the well-being of students through this camp.”
The management of Lahoria School expressed gratitude to Gobind Nursing Home, highlighting how such initiatives enhance awareness among parents and help maintain students’ overall health and academic growth.
The event was well-organised, with smooth coordination between the school staff and the medical team.
Gobind Nursing Home stated that they plan to conduct more such community outreach programs in the coming months, focusing on early detection and prevention of eye diseases among children and adults.
