Glenn Maxwell today posted on his Instagram that he is not giving his name for the mini auction. He said, “Thank you for all your support over the years. Hopefully, see you soon”
Glenn Maxwell was released by the Punjab Kings this year. Last season, the Punjab Kings bought Maxwell for 4.2 crore in the mega auction. Maxwell’s performance was on the downside with both bat and ball. Ricky Pointing said after releasing Maxwell that they can not fit Maxwell in their playing 11. Punjab also released Josh Inglis, Aaron Hardie, Kuldeep Sen, and Parveen Dubey.
Russel posted on his Instagram, “Hanging up my IPL boots… but not the Swagger. What a ride it’s been in the IPL – 12 seasons of memories, and a whole lot of love from the KKR family”
KKR appointed Russel as a Power Coach
The Kolkata Knight Riders retained Andre Russell for 12 crore in the mega auction last year. But this year, they released it after last year’s KKR’s bad performance, finishing in 8th place in the points table. This performance from the defending champion wasn’t expected. So they took the bitter and difficult decision this time. KKR released the players: Andre Russell, Quinton de Kock, Anrich Nortje, Moeen Ali, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Spencer Johnson, Venkatesh Iyer, Luvnith Sisodia, Chetan Sakariya, and Mayank Markande.
