Country’s first Digital University inaugurated at Kerala

Taking a major step towards progress in the education sector, Kerala started the first digital university (Kerala University of Digital Sciences, Innovation, and Technology) in the country.  The university was inaugurated at the Technocity at Mangalapuram near Thiruvananthapuram. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan presided over the function and Governor Arif Mohammad Khan inaugurated the university virtually.

Kerala Governor is also the Chancellor of Kerala Digital Science, Innovation and Technology University (KUDSIT). During the inaugural address, Khan said that the beginning of digital university in the state will promote new technology and use it to bring positive changes in people’s lives. He said that it is expected that the digital university will play an important role in advancing technology in the state.

Knowledge brings courage, better understanding, acceptance and unity in every aspect of life as well as relieves us from ignorance.

 Chief Minister Vijayan said that the first university of its kind in the country will play an important role in advancing technology through its different programs. With the introduction of the first digital university in the country, great opportunities will be created for the youth. He said that we need to promote technically talented people and make people technically competent as per the changes in the new world.

India’s first Digital University has been established by upgrading the old Indian Information Technology and Management Kerala (IIITM-K) institute. It will offer postgraduate programs and research in different aspects of digital technology through five schools.
