Every graphic designer has their own specific set of tools required for designing. Since the time everything has become digital, all the designing tools have also become digital.

A graphic design tool provides the basic set of brushes, photos, fonts, colors, and other sub tools necessary for designing. Many such tools are free whereas others are paid.

If you are familiar with the design or have an idea about it, then you might have heard about many apps that are in use for designing. Every application is of the best quality and pertains to a specific purpose only.

Here is a list of the various applications that can be used to make different types of designs and layouts.

Canva: This is the simplest website for Graphic design. It is free and also has share options. Unlike software, it only works online. There are various pre-made templates for every page size and every occasion. If you want an Instagram post for the new year, you will be overwhelmed to see the ample amount of options here.

There is just one disadvantage, that Canva is not very flexible. You cannot do everything here. Especially if you are using the free version there are many restrictions.

Adobe Photoshop: This is by far the most used and most popular among designers. The basic work of this software is photo-editing but it doesn’t stop there. You can make anything from cards to brochures. With Photoshop, you have endless opportunities. Almost anything can be imported to Photoshop and created. There are many options of exporting files  .png, .jpg, PDF, etc. Photoshop is compatible with any version of windows and Mac. It can also be imported to Adobe Illustrator, aftereffects, XD, and other Adobe suits. There is great flexibility with Photoshop and once the license is purchased, the opportunities are endless.

Adobe Illustrator: This software is another suit of Adobe. Illustrator is mainly used for illustration purposes. You can draw or add illustrations to a picture. If you want to make authentic designs that are unique to you, you should use adobe illustrator software.

Adobe Sparkpost: Sparkpost is just like Canva. It has pre-made templates for every use. It has a free version and a paid one too. However, the free version of the spark post has more features than Canva. It is easy to export files as well as share them.

InDesign: Another software from the Adobe suite is Indesign. It is mainly used in print media but can be used for making various other designs. The best part about using Indesign is that it is open to creativity. The best magazine and newsletter designs are made from InDesign. It has a huge database of fonts. Placing images on Indesign is also easier compared to other adobe software. However, sharing Indesign files is a little difficult. The best option is to share it in PDF.

Procreate: Procreate is available only in ios. But it is one of the best software for designing. When coupled with a stylus, it works the best. From calligraphy to illustration it works wonderfully.

Krita: Graphic designing is not limited to only Brochures and other print media, webtoons and comics are also a major part of it. Krita is one of the best software for Cartoon designing. It is customized for comic makers and has many tools for drawing and sketching. Krita is free to use.

MediBang: Like Krita, Medibang is also a popular choice for making comic design. It has a wide range of brushes and has pre-made patterns for background and fabric. Medibang is very user friendly and it frequently holds an art competition for designers.

Pablo: Is another application like Canva but even more basic. There are very few features present in it but are very easy to do. Pablo hardly takes 2 minutes to make a design from it. It is best used for writing quotes for social media and pinterest. There is a direct share button that shares the pictures on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.

Remove BG: is the last graphic design tool I find useful. For a new designer, this application is quite good. It does only one thing that is to remove the background. You can add a new background after removing or add any stickers. It is the best background remover out there. In the aspect of making png images, it is better than photoshop.

If you are a beginner then try out Canva and Sparkpost before you go ahead with the Adobe Suite. This way you will have the knowledge of what to do and how to do graphic designing.
