Subjects and career in Non- medical stream after 10th

After completing class 10th, there are many doors open to students in terms of subjects, careers etc. These gigantic numbers of options make students confused and overwhelming at the same time which make it difficult sometimes for them to opt for the correct option for them. And as these chosen streams decide your future career paths it becomes mandatory to choose them properly as per your interests. It also depends upon your aims, where you want to be, what you want to do, where do you see yourself.Non- medical is one of those options available to you. Today we’ll talk about its extensive areas, what subjects you have to study, what career paths it avails to you and much more:-

Subjects in Non- medical :-

There are a total of five subjects you have to study in the Non- medical stream you choose after your 10th. Out of these five four subjects are necessary which are as follows:- 

1). Physics:- 

Physics is the branch of science which deals with the study of matter and its motion and behaviour. It studies various concepts of nature like space, time, motion of objects, forces, electromagnetism, optics etc. 

2). Chemistry:-

It is the branch of science which deals with the study of chemicals and reactions between them. In Chemistry you will study about different topics like chemical bonding, shapes of molecules, chemical reactions between different species, thermodynamics of reactions etc.

3). Mathematics:-

Mathematics is the subject which is all about calculation of different terms around you related to business, space, fundamental things you daily appoints with etc. It is all around us in some form including engineering, architecture, art, money and even in sports.

4). English:-

It’s one of the official languages of India, and also most common used language in the world.It is an unavoidable subject studied at Class 11-12 level no matter what’s your stream is.English is a common language medium used in offices, colleges and online, which is the reason a certain level of adaptation is always helpful.At 11-12 level, the subject usually focuses on reading, writing, grammar, and listening/speaking skills in English.

5).Optional :-

Apart from these 4 mandatory subjects i (Physics, Chemistry, English and Mathematics), you are required to take on a 5th optional subject. Some schools also have provisions to apply for a 6th subject as well, allowing you to choose 2 optional subjects. Here are some Optional subjects listed below :-

  • Computer Science
  • Home science
  • Physical education
  • Economics
  • Informatics practices
  • Engineering drawing
  • Psychology

So these above mentioned subjects are offered in  Non- medical science stream.

You can also take biology as an additional subject along with mathematics. It opens all the options for you to choose after your 12th  as you can also take over medical career options then. 

Career in Non- medical stream:-

There are many options you can opt after completing your 12th class in non – medical stream:-

1). Engineering:-

Engineering is one of the foremost popular career options in the non medical field.  You have to do the graduation in  BTech. There are various fields in which you can pursue BTech 

  •  computing, 
  • Electronics, 
  • Aviation, 
  • Chemical, 
  • Mechanical etc.

You can also opt integrated courses that provide an MBA degree alongside B.Tech.

But doing engineering will be favorable if and only if you do it from top engineering colleges of India like IITs, NSIT, DTU, IIITs , BiTS Pilani etc. Entrance to be considered for that are:-

  • JEE(main and advance) 
  • BITSAT
  • VITEEE 
  • IPU engineering
  • Manipal, Jamia, AMU (BTech) etc.

2). BSc:- 

When it comes to choosing a graduation course after 12, BSc is the most  common option selected by students.  It is an undergraduate course offered by almost all universities in india. It’s a 3 year course. It offers both theoretical and practical knowledge about different subject areas . These subject areas include different subjects related to the field of science like Physics, Chemistry, agriculture, biochemistry etc. Students with a strong base in maths and science can go for it but if you belong to another particular field and are interested in this course you can still do this. The course is also beneficial for students who wish to pursue multi and interdisciplinary science careers in future. You can do it in various fields:-

Candidates having PCMB subjects in Class XII are eligible to apply for admission in all BSc courses mentioned above.

3). B.Arch

This course is somewhat analogous to engineering but it’s moderately different due to the specialization offered under this course. The duration of this architecture program is 4 years and you can do this course from Indian  as well as International Universities. In this course you will study the concepts of architecture which is also comprehend with making layouts of the buildings. So if you wanna be at this particular position you can go for this course after your 12th non medical.

4). NDA- National defence academy

You can also serve your own nation if you want to. In order to do that you have to seem in exam NDA and this may assist you in getting admission to the National Defense Academy. There are three types of defence services you can go for :- 

  • Army
  • Navy
  • Air force

The choice procedure is a bit arduous but it’s certainly worth a try.

5).Hotel Management

The industry has several opportunities for you , you can also  become Hotel Manager, Head of Housekeeping, Event Manager, etc. It’s moreover on the increase in cruises, aviation industry, resorts, and even casinos.

6).Commercial Pilot Training

As nowadays aviation companies are at growth mode in domestic as well as international passenger traffic. So it’s valuable for you to be a billboard pilot and thus the path is forthright. You can recruit yourself in training with one among the airline affiliated courses. The training will prepare you to ensnare  the aviation organization and it’ll offer you wings.

7).BA in LLB

If you’re interested in  law courses then you can also choose BA in LLB. It’s usually a dual degree integrated program and this may compile you in becoming a lawyer. Like in all other courses, you can start as an intern then you’ll be apt  to rise up in  your way together with your dedication and perseverance.

8. Merchant Navy

If you love to travel a lot, then this job is definitely for you and you can also get a high salary package in this. There are many coastal areas of India which offer such courses.you can get  high pay roles but during your commission time, you’ll be staying far away from home. With time, you can  even be a captain of the ship if you are disciplined and well determined .

9).Actuary: 

Actuarial Sciences are also called financial astrologers applying statistical methods and mathematical skills to determine level of risk in finance, insurance and other professions. Endless opportunities, assurance of high salary and high job security are some of the reasons why actuarial sciences is emerging to be a sought after career option.If you have a salient brain which can deal with enormous amounts of mathematics and statistics. It offers an extensive salary package around 40LPA. If it’s an appealing part of exertion for you then you can opt this field. It also requires less investment.

You need to clear the ACET exam for it.

10). Various Diploma Course

 you can also Diploma Engineering in a variety of fields. After completing it you can also go for another degree courses.Apart from the traditional Diploma Engineering programs, you can also go for several other job-oriented diploma courses .  some job-oriented courses,which  you can  pursue after doing your 12th with Science stream:
