<p class="has-medium-font-size">The vaccination drive for young India, children between the age of 15-18 was started on January 3 in response to the rapid spread of the highly contagious Omicron variant of coronavirus. In addition to this, Healthcare, frontline workers and senior citizens will also get a booster shot from January 10.</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">The Centre said on Thursday that Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Thane, Bengaluru, Chennai, Gurgaon, Ahmedabad, and Nashik are reporting a steep sudden increase of cases, expressing concern over the country&#8217;s overall Covid cases. India&#8217;s daily Covid tally has been rising since December 26, according to Lav Agarwal, joint secretary of the health department, speaking at the ministry&#8217;s weekly press conference on the Covid-19 situation. According to the secretary, the Centre is in contact with districts that are causing concern.</p>

<p> <strong>Health ministry concerned about India&#8217;s Covid-19 situation and vaccines</strong></p>



<p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>1.&nbsp;</strong>The highest number of active COVID cases are in Kerala, Maharashtra, Karnataka, West Bengal and Tamil Nadu.</p>



<p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>2.</strong>&nbsp;In India, eight districts have a weekly positivity rate of more than 10%. Mizoram has six, Arunachal Pradesh has one, and West Bengal has one (Kolkata).</p>



<p class="has-medium-font-size">3. In India, 14 districts have a weekly positivity rate of 5% to 10%, including 6 in Kerala, 4 in Mizoram, and 1 each in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Jharkhand, and Manipur.</p>



<p class="has-medium-font-size">4. The virus is mutating, which creates a need to increase public monitoring, according to the Centre.</p>



<p class="has-medium-font-size">5. In response to a question about post-infection immunity, ICMR DG Dr Balram Bhargava stated that immunity lasts for roughly nine months. Dr. Bhargava cited worldwide and Indian studies to say that post-vaccination immunity lasts for about 9 months.</p>



<p class="has-medium-font-size">6. &nbsp;Niti Aaayog member (health) Dr VK Paul said, The R-value is 1.22, which means the cases are not shrinking. R-Value signifies the spread of the virus and a value of 1.22 means 100 infected people are spreading the infection to 122 people.</p>



<p class="has-medium-font-size">7. Registration &amp; appointment process for vaccination of children &amp; precaution doses can be done on Co-Win. The option of onsite registration is also available. 										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p class="has-medium-font-size">Today, Delhi Government imposed a &#8220;Yellow alert,&#8221; in the state in view of rising omicron cases.  A night curfew will be in effect from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. The Delhi Metro and bus services will operate at half-capacity.</p>



<p class="has-medium-font-size">The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) issued additional recommendations on Tuesday as part of the &#8220;yellow alert&#8221; declared in the national capital due to an increase in Covid-19 cases. In over six months, the city has had the biggest single-day increase in cases.</p>



<p class="has-medium-font-size">When the positivity rate for two consecutive days exceeds 0.5 per cent, or when the cumulative single-day positive instances for a period of seven days exceeds 1,500, a &#8220;yellow alert&#8221; is issued.</p>



<p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>Following are the key restrictions imposed in Delhi:</strong></p>



<p class="has-medium-font-size">1. All schools, colleges and other educational institutions will remain shut.</p>



<p class="has-medium-font-size">2. A night curfew has been imposed in Delhi from 10 pm to 5 am.</p>



<p class="has-medium-font-size">3. Cinemas and gyms will be shut.</p>



<p class="has-medium-font-size">4. Delhi Metro, public buses will operate at 50% seating capacity with no standing passengers.</p>



<p class="has-medium-font-size">5. Spas, salons and barber-shops will stay open.</p>



<p class="has-medium-font-size">6. Restaurants and bars will function at 50% capacity till 10 pm.</p>



<p class="has-medium-font-size">7. Online food deliveries will continue as usual.</p>



<p class="has-medium-font-size">8. Malls and shops will be open on an odd-even basis. Timings are between 10 am and 8 pm.</p>



<p class="has-medium-font-size">9. Standalone shops have been permitted to remain open without the odd-even rule.</p>



<p class="has-medium-font-size">10. All large gatherings &#8211; political, social and religious &#8211; will remain prohibited for the order duration.</p>
