Therefore, we are sharing few skin care tips for you to have your Holi, free from skin allergies, acnes or any other side effects.

1) Hydrate Yourself :

Since, you are going to play out with colours, where your lots of energy is going to be used and you may avoid  drinking water, out of carelessness. It is better to hydrate oneself with lots of fruit juice, water, coconut water etc.

One can think of water based Thandai as well, to have the feels of Holi.

2) Moustrize Your Skin :

Applying a greasy layer of some good skin care oils and lotions, can later help a lot in removing colours from the skin as oil or lotion won’t let the colour dig into the skin.

3) Cleanse :

One must cleanse one’s skin with essential cleanser or toner, after playing with colours, so as to avoid allergies, pigmentation etc.

4) Say ‘Hi’ to Sun :

One can definitely say ‘Hi’ to Sun, after applying balanced amount of sunscreen with SPF 24 or more. This can help in the prevention of Sun burn, tanning etc.

5) Avoid Grooming Services :

Just after Holi, when your skin has come into the contact of lots of colours and coloured water. One must avoid skin and hair related services, such has waxing, facial etc. As application of chemicals just after the colours, can cause serious damage to skin.

Therefore, this Holi, have a  glow on your face, without the fearing the damage to your beautiful skin.

Also, be friendly to animals, don’t throw colours on the mute ones, as this can cause a serious skin hazard to them.

The cultural form of Holi is a symbol of purity and love. It is celebrated all over India in different parts in different forms. In the southwestern India, the Rang Panchami is organized on the fifth day after Holika Dahan. Festival of Holi starts in Rajasthan a fortnight ago. The most famous Holi celebration is of Barsana and Mathura in Uttar Pradesh. This festival is celebrated without any distinction of tribe and is a welcome call for summer and new crop and palash flowers.   

Braj holi is so famous that tourists from all over India and outside India come to enjoy the colors and delicacies of the festival. In the Braj, the festivities may last more than a week. This year it will get start from March 14 to 22. The different places of Braj are known for playing different kind of Holi.

Barsana is famous for Lathmar Holi where women beat men with sticks when they try to apply colors on them. From here, Lathmar holi spread all over India.

Vrindavan is known for its Phoolon wali Holi played with flowers only. No wet and dry colors are used during the event. Here, Holi of Banke Bihari temple is quite famous and it is played in the temple premises and outside too. The priest sprinkle gulal, flowers and water on devotees. Devotees enjoy the gulal , water and lord Krishna ‘s bhajans.

A night before the big day, bonfire is lit which is known as Holika Dahan. It is celebrated because Holika get burnt in when she was trying to burn her nephew Prahlad.

This festival is not only for enjoying, playing and getting colored all over, but it is also a day to forget the revenge and give a new start to the relationship. As colors spread happiness, so is the festival of colors do.
