Following the introduction of the i5, BMW now offers five electric vehicles (EVs) for sale in India: the iX1, iX xDrive50, i4, and i7. The flagship electric sedan is also offered in i7 M70 xDrive configuration.

BMW i5 RANGE, Battery, and Charge 

The BMW i5 M60 xDrive has an 83.9kWh (81.2kWh usable) battery pack that offers 516 kilometers of range on a single charge. Two electric motors, one on each axle, are powered by the battery and provide a combined output of 601 horsepower and 795 Nm of torque. BMW claims that this version of the i5 can reach a top speed of 230 mph and go from 0 to 100 mph in 3.8 seconds.

The BMW i5 EV can be charged at 205 kW DC for 10 to 80 per cent charge in less than 30 minutes.

BMW i5 EXTERIOR, COLOUR OPTIONS 

The BMW i5 EV, introduced in India has the traditional kidney grille with lights and a blanked-off design (completed in glossy black plastic). 

Under the slender headlights, which are equipped with two LED DRLs stacked vertically in each unit, is the more aggressive bumper featuring wider intakes. The side skirt and flush-fitting door handles are paired with brand-new 20-inch alloy wheels wearing 275/35 R20 tires on the back and 245/40 R20 tires on the front.

 The i5’s rear taillights are slim LED units with a chrome separation separating the two LED elements, following the style of the new 7 Series.

BMW will provide the i5 in one non-metallic Alpine White paint in India. 

The colors M Brooklyn Grey, M Carbon Black, Cape York Green, Phytonic Blue, Black Sapphire, Sophiosto Grey, Oxide Grey, and Mineral White are examples of metallic exterior paint tints.

BMW i5 INTERIOR FEATURES 

The BMW i5 for India has a 14.9-inch infotainment touchscreen with gaming and video capabilities, running the most recent version of BMW’s iDrive 8.5 operating system. It also has a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. It is controlled with a controller that looks familiar  on the centre console; in fact, the center console and its 15-color ambient lighting system resemble that of the i7.

Naturally, the M60 receives a number of M-specific upgrades, including a flat-bottom M leather-wrapped steering wheel, performance-based displays for the infotainment and instrument cluster, and carbon fiber trim on the dashboard (a dark silver accent with a wood trim is available as an optional extra). Sports seats with an active cooling feature, a black roof lining, a Bowers & Wilkins audio system, a panoramic sunroof, 4-zone climate control, a 360-degree camera, and more are standard on the i5.

The i5 comes with a regular 2-year/unlimited-kilometre guarantee from BMW India, but its battery has an 8-year/1.6 lakh-kilometer warranty.

The new BMW X3 will be produced locally in India in two petrol types and will be available from today at all registered BMW dealerships. The diesel version of the new X3 is expected to arrive later.

The new X3 is powered by a two-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 185 kW / 252 HP and 350 Nm of maximum torque between 1,450 and 4,800 rpm.

This engine allows the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometres per hour in just 6.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 235 kilometres per hour. The engine is connected to a Steptronic sport transmission with eight speeds.

Adaptive Suspension with individual electronically adjustable dampers is available on the BMW X3. Furthermore, it comes standard with steering wheel paddle shifters, cruise control with braking function, and automatic differential brakes (ADB) with electronic differential locks. It also has the BMW Performance Control system, which improves the vehicle’s stability by applying targeted brakes to the wheels.

Six airbags, expert Assistance, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) with Cornering Brake Control (CBC), electric parking brake with auto hold, side-impact protection, electronic vehicle immobiliser and crash sensor, ISOFIX child seat mounting, and an integrated emergency spare wheel under the load floor are all included in the car’s safety features.

The BMW X1 20i Tech Edition has a muscular and crisp appearance. With a massive vertically slated chrome-adorned kidney grille, the SUV has a commanding front profile. LED headlamps and LED fog lamps to flank it on both sides.

When viewed from the side, the car has a wedge-shaped roofline and strong character lines. The luxury SUV’s inside has a large space, as well as having premium features. It has plenty of room for the occupants, as well as a horizontal surface design. The cockpit has a huge panoramic glass roof, six dimmable ambient lighting options, and both driver and passenger electrical seat adjustment with memory function.

A new 10.25-inch central touch screen display with an iDrive controller and navigation, head-up display, wireless charging, 205-watt audio system, paddle shifters, cruise control, and other amenities are also available. For added comfort, the rear seats may be reclined, and there is a center armrest with dual cupholders. By folding the seats, the boot storage capacity can be extended from 500 to 1,550 liters.

To power the SUV, a 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine with BMW’s TwinPower Turbo technology is given. At 1,350–4,600 rpm, it produces 192 horsepower and 280 Nm of maximum torque.

Six airbags, attentiveness assistance, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Cornering Brake Control (CBC), electric parking brake with auto hold, side-impact protection, electronic vehicle immobilizer, and crash sensor are among the safety features.

BMW M5 Competition features

BMW M5 Competition is equipped with 8 speed M Steptronic transmission that helps to accelerate from 0 to 100 Kmph in 3.3 seconds. The standard M5 takes 3.9 seconds to reach 100 Kmph. Like the M5, this sedan also gets the M xDrive all-wheel drive system. It has DSC and xDrive modes that give the driver to choose between 4WD, 4WD Sport, and 2WD modes.

The BMW M5 Competition is somewhat more expensive than its standard BMW M5 variant, available in India. It is estimated that the BMW M5 Competition is Rs. 10 lakhs costlier than its standard variant.

The BMW M5 Competition’s cockpit features a 12.3-inch completely digital instrument display and a 12.3-inch center display. BMW Live Cockpit Professional comes standard, as does BMW Operating System 7.0, which incorporates 3D navigation.

Radiator grille, wing mirrors, rear apron, rear spoiler have been given in this version. The roof of this car is lightweight and high tensile carbon fiber plastic has been used.

BMW 2 series Gran Coupe 220i Sport Specifications

The 220i Sport is powered by a TwinPower Turbo two-liter four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 190 horsepower and 280 Nm of peak torque and is manufactured locally at BMW’s Chennai plant. It has a seven-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission and can accelerate to 100 km/h in 7.1 seconds. The driver can choose from four different driving modes: ECO PRO, Comfort, and Sport.

Sport seats for the driver and front passenger, ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, BMW Live Cockpit Plus, Performance Control, and Parking Assist with Reverse Assist are among the features of the more capable addition to the 2 Series family.

Inside the 220i Sport, there’s an 8.8-inch main display with 3D Navigation, a 5.1-inch digital instrument cluster with analog dials, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support.

The sedan features cruise control with brake function, parking assistant with rear-view camera, reversing assistant, auto start/stop, brake energy regeneration, and more in terms of driving convenience.

Six airbags, Attentiveness Assistance, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Brake Assist, ARB technology (actuator contiguous wheel slip restriction system), Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) with Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) and Electronic Differential Lock Control (EDLC), and Cornering Brake Control are among the advanced safety features available (CBC).

BMW M340i Specifications

The BMW 340i sedan’s 3.0-liter 6-cylinder engine generates a maximum power of 387 bhp and a peak torque of 500 Nm. Its engine is equipped with 8-speed automatic transmission with a paddle shifter. The car can achieve 0-100 km / h speed in just 4.4 seconds. It has 18-inch alloy wheels, which can be upgraded to 19-inch.

BMW 340i is available in three exterior colors – Dravit Grey, Sunset Orange, and Tanzanite Blue.

In addition to motorsport driving dynamics, the BMW M340i xDrive also offers first-class driver assistance systems and connectivity services.
