Indian women clean-sweep the Sri Lankan team by winning all 5 matches of the T20i Series. Indian women won the last match by 15 runs, making the series fall in their favour.
The match was played at Greenfield Stadium, Thrivanthampuram. Sri Lanka won the toss and invited the Indian team to bat first. Shefali Verma and Indiaβs new opener Gunalan Kamilini opened the innings for India.Β Both the openers lost their wickets very early, and after that, Harleen Deol also lost her wicket early, but captain Harmanpreet Kaur stood and played the most important inning for her team. She scored 68 runs in 43 balls and smashed 9 fours and 1 six with a strike rate ofΒ 158.11.
Amanjot Kaur and Arundhati Reddy helped her score the valuable runs for India. Amanjot scored 21 in 18 balls and smashed 27 in 11 balls with 4 fours and 1 six in the last. Chamari Athapaththu, Rashmika Serwani, Kanisha Dihhari, and Nimesha Meepage took crucial wickets for the Sri Lankan women’s team.
In the 2nd inning, Hasini Perera and Imesha Dulani played an important inning for their team; both smashed a half-century.
