Facebook Inc’s WhatsApp is in the news since it has announced its new privacy policy for users. Recently the company claimed that it wouldn’t be sharing any personal data with Facebook, still, users are transiting to other apps like Telegram and Signal.

On Friday, WhatsApp made an announcement in which it is mentioned that “We’re now moving back the date on which people will be asked to review and accept the terms. No one will have their account suspended or deleted on February 8. We’re also going to do a lot more to clear up the misinformation around how privacy and security work on WhatsApp. We’ll then go to people gradually to review the policy at their own pace before new business options are available on May 15.”

WhatsApp takes back the new privacy policy for now and will review it again in May.

WhatsApp keeps on updating its feature and that’s why to make communicating with a business secure, better, and easier for everyone, they support over 175 million people who message a business account every day. While not everyone shops with a business on WhatsApp today, we think that more people will choose to do so in the future and its important people are aware of these services. This update does not expand our ability to share data with Facebook, it said.
The post No WhatsApp account will be deleted on February 8: WhatsApp delayed new Privacy policy first appeared on Jugaadin News .

A few days back, the WhatsApp messaging app updated its privacy policy in which it is mentioned that how it shares user data with Facebook and Instagram. This has created chaos among the users and they started shifting to other apps like signal and telegram that are having the same features as WhatsApp.

On Tuesday, WhatsApp clarified through a tweet that its privacy policy update does not affect the privacy of messages done with friends or family. The company clarified that it continues to protect private messages with end-to-end encryption.

We want to address some rumors and be 100% clear we continue to protect your private messages with end-to-end encryption. pic.twitter.com/6qDnzQ98MP
— WhatsApp (@WhatsApp) January 12, 2021

WhatsApp now trying to assure the users by clarifying that it does not keep logs of who is calling and messaging, neither WhatsApp nor Facebook can see the shared location, WhatsApp does not share the contacts list with Facebook, Whatsapp groups remain private and a user can download their data and can also set disappearing messages feature.

In a statement given last week, WhatsApp cleared that its new privacy policy is for how users communicate with business accounts and that personal account calls and messages remain unaffected.

To know how WhatsApp is protecting privacy and what it will share with facebook in business conversations, see official statement
The post Personal messages and video calls are safe on WhatsApp: WhatsApp clarifies on the updated privacy policy first appeared on Jugaadin News .
