The whole world is going through a crisis due to coronavirus. Sports and players are also not untouched by this. The people associated with the sports world, whether they are sportsmen or sports associations or any other, are helping all along with protecting themselves. Apart from helping the needy, they are also providing food items. Some players are raising funds by organizing charity events, while others are giving donations besides reducing their salary. Some players are raising funds by crowdfunding and some by auctioning sports equipment. Many players have joined the national health services of their respective countries. Some big sports federations have donated 200-300 crores rupees while some have opened the stadiums to help the victims.

Nadal, Ramos, Gerrard
Pique raised around five crores rupees

Rafael Nadal, Gerard Pique, and Sergio Ramos join the online global music festival. A few other celebrities were also involved in the charity events organized by the Spanish League. They raised an amount of around 5.2 crore rupees from it. BCCI has assisted Rs. 51 crore in India. The National Basketball Association of America has raised more than 300 million.

Some players are becoming volunteers in the health service of their country

Pecambu Stadium in São Paulo, Brazil, has been converted into an open-air hospital. Several clubs and rugby clubs, including English club Manchester City, have offered to convert the stadium into a hospital. At the same time, Ronaldo, the star of Italian club Yuventus, many players and staff have given up their salary of about 750 million rupees for four months.

Jersey Company is now making masks

The company that makes the official jersey and uniform of Major League Baseball is now making masks and gowns for the people. This company is also giving masks to people without charging any cost. England female cricketer Heather Knight has joined the National Health Service (NHS) as a volunteer. They will do the work of distributing medicines, making people aware. At the same time, Joginder Sharma, the fast bowler who helps the Indian team to win the T20 World Cup in 2007, has now come out on the road to save people from coronavirus. He is the DSP in Hisar in Haryana Police. At this time, Joginder is asking people to stay in the house to follow the lockdown so as to protect themselves from the coronavirus.
The post Players and Sports academy raising funds for corona victims first appeared on Jugaadin News .

In a shocking Incident today, the 3rd Test between New Zealand & Bangladesh which was supposed to be played at Hagely Oval in Christchurch was cancelled due to safety concerns after two Mosques were attacked.

As far as players are concerned, the Bangladesh Team just escaped the incident as they were just pulling into Al Noor Mosque (one of the two attacked mosque). The situation is now under control but it is to be believed that players suffered some mental trauma with some of them also taking to twitter & expressing their horror.

The Bangaldesh Cricket Board & New Zealand Cricket in a joint statement has quoted that ” The 3rd Test between the teams has been cancelled & the visitors will fly back home as soon as possible”.

Also, all the ICC officials have been repored to be safe & sound.

The Honourable Supreme Court of India, today in verdict as quoted by Sressanth’s lawyer Salman Khurshid has lifted the ban on the cricketer but has told BCCI to decide a new punishment for the cricketer in next 3 months.

Those who don’t know S.Sreesanth, the World Cup Winning Player was convicted as one of the 3 player involved in IPL spot fixing in 2013 season, which eventually led to ban of Rajasthan Royals & Chennai Super Kings for 2 years. It is still unknown whether the other banned players Ankit Chavan & Ajit Chandila have challlenged BCCI’s life ban.

While BCCI has stated that they have done right thing against these players. Also, the Delhi Police has cleared all the three from any charges related to spor fixing way back in 2015. So, it will be interesting to see whether BCCI challenges this decision or not.

The Former Indian Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni also known as captain cool, yesterday denied to Inaugurate a stand at JSCA International Sports Complex, Ranchi.

Actually the heart of the matter is that the South stand of JSCA International Sports Complex has been named after the Former Indian Captain Ms.Dhoni by the Association. But when the secretary of JSCA Mr. Debashis Chakraborty asked him to Inaugurate the Pavilion named after him, he said ‘ Dada apne hii ghar mein kya inaugurate karna’.

This humble gesture of MSD surprised everyone & was adjudged as a right decision by people.
