They want them to be perfect in every aspect whether it is intellectual, social, physical and emotional. Every child is different and their capabilities are also unique. Some children are good at English, some are at Maths and some are at science. But parent worries most when their child hates Maths. Maths seems to be difficult for many children as it includes adding, subtracting and calculations of big numbers using formulas. But a technique known as Abacus is introduced now a day which makes Maths interesting and easy to learn for the children. It is proved to be successful method of learning Maths if introduced at an early age.</p>

<p>Abacus is a counting frame constructed on bamboo frame with
beads sliding on wires. The device is used to do addition, subtraction,
multiplication, division etc. Learning abacus at an early age has some benefits
that will help in the overall development of the child apart from learning
maths only.</p>

Are you worried about this? Someone will tell you that different children will have different level of learning. This might not be the reason. The reason behind different level of activeness in children is due to different working level of right and left hemisphere of brain. Yes, our brain has two hemispheres, <strong>Right and left.</strong> Right brain is meant for creativity whereas left brain is for logical and analytical thinking. Every child use only one side of brain and that become his dominant side. This is because some children are active listeners and some are speakers. Some are artistic while others are logical thinkers. Some traits that are exhibit by right and left hemispheres active children are:</p>



<p><strong>Traits shown by dominance of Right hemisphere</strong>: They are creative in nature and they learn the things through visuals. They like the things when it is available physically. They give their best when work in groups as their creative ideas come up in that situation. They don’t perform well in schools as they are disorganized and can’t concentrate on a thing.</p>

<p><strong>Traits shown by dominance of left Hemisphere:</strong> These children are socially inactive and least interested in doing outdoor activities. Children with weak right hemisphere are goal oriented and they set directions for themselves. They are academically sound.</p>



<p>But for the overall development of the child, both right and left brain should be balanced. Balancing the mind is important for the digestive, immune and nervous system of the children. There are numerous centers which operate various brain balancing programs for children. Parent should consult the mentors or doctors to determine which part of brain is active in them and how they can go for proper brain balancing.</p>

These five elements are known as <strong>Panchbhootas.</strong> These elements are the building blocks of entire world. When these elements are aligned in order, they exhibit positive energy and gave happiness to the person and place. But if they are not aligned or maintained, they can bring harm, bad luck to the same. Thus, when five elements are arranged according to principles of design, layout, measurements, ground preparation, space arrangement, and spatial geometry, termed as Vastu Shastra. <strong>Vastu shastra</strong> being a Sanskrit word means a dwelling or house and shastra means science. Thus, in total it termed as Science of Architecture. </p>



<p>To harness the benefits of cosmic energy like solar, lunar, geospatial etc., vastu shastra is used and it brings success and happiness in person’s life and work place. Theories or principles of vastu shastra when applied during the construction of the building are much better than doing changes after that. The inhabitants of the place feel positive energy because of it.</p>

<p>Clear your mind and body out of negativities is necessary
and can be done through these simple techniques:</p>



<p><strong>&nbsp;Exercise Daily</strong>: To burn the negative energy out of mind and body, exercise daily. Exercise can reduce the stress. Simple activities like taking a staircase instead of Lift, riding a bicycle, a 30 minute walk, swimming and stretching can help in reducing stress.</p>

<p><strong>Take healthy diet: </strong>Mind and stomach are inter-related. When we get healthy food, our mind feels calm and relaxed. There are some hormones known as stress hormones whose level need to be checked. Chocolate, herbal tea, plenty of water, fresh fruits and vegetables all will help in detoxifying the body and get rid of stress.</p>

Have you ever thought why today’s children have lost their childhood? Instead of smiling, why these tiny faces shadowed with sadness and tension? At young age, when it’s their time to play and have fun, they are bound to go schools with heavy bags on shoulders. These tiny tots are forced to enter in the race of competition. And because of this, their childhood has lost as they have to prove themselves better than others.  On this too, today’s parent are so busy that they don’t pay attention to their wards and let them play whole day on phone, tabs and computers.</p>

<p>The difference between the child of early age and nowadays is that parents didn’t imposed objectives goals on them. They were free to do what they want and their way according to abilities. But today’s child is forced to enter that field in which all other are going. Parent’s try to mold them in a way that is not meant for them. Because of this “cultural” misunderstanding, children often feel they are not understood, and parents feel frustrated as their child acts out. If this “cultural divide” deepens, the quality of the relationship between parents and children can deteriorate, creating a lack of closeness among family members. </p>

<p>Who has inspired the children to do this? Somewhere, parent and their social pressure is compelling them. It is necessary to give proper direction to the juvenile at this point, so that the future will appear self sufficient. Its parent‘s duty to understand their child need, wants and interests. There are some plans and courses which help parent to know about their child’s abilities. It will enable them to counsel so that children can blossom, laugh and be successful. </p>

It doesn’t claim to heal disease but a person can feel calm and relaxed after experiencing it. Reiki is made up of two words. Rei and ki. Rei means higher power and Ki means life force energy. It is a method of spiritual energy healing in which practitioner uses the energy of his hands to heal the patient’s illness. He placed his hands on or above the body of the person to stimulate the energy flow. When some imbalance in the energy flowing of the body occurs, Reiki therapy helps in maintaining the flow. </p>

hysteria etc.</p>



<p>Depression is a disease that makes the person sad and weak
from inside. Depression of mind is increasing in human society day by day.
People do not treat it as a disease and do not get treatment and keep living a
depressed life. They do not even know that treatment of this disease is
possible. People need to get rid of this misconception, so that they can again
laugh and lead a happier life. </p>



<p>Today, experts have proved this by research that treatment
of this disease is possible just like any other disease. Our brain that
controls all the body functions is composed of crore of cells called neurons.
Each neuron communicates with other neuron through neurometer. Change in some
neuron meter causes depression. </p>



<p><strong>The symptoms are as follows:</strong></p>



<p>The depressed person doesn’t take interest in any work. His mind gets bored from home, family, business, enjoyment, pleasure etc.&nbsp; Sometimes situation become so worst that he feels to get suicide. </p>

<p><strong>Depression is of two types: Reactive and Endogenous.</strong> There must be some reason for reactive depression to occur like death of a loved one, financial loss, fail in exam or love whereas endogenous depression can be because of changes in hormones. The problem arises due to imbalance in the secretion of glands. Depression affects the people of 25 to 45 years of age but it effect goes on increasing with age. In children, its symptoms are different like irritability, stubbornness, not interested in going to school and less concentration in studies. A depressed person surrounds himself from his personal problems so well that he get isolated from the outer world. This lead to monotonous and Despair
life.</p>



<p><strong>Preventive measures</strong>: &nbsp;Some of the medical areas that proved beneficial in curing depression are psychotherapy, electronic therapy, meditation, yoga and acupressure. Medicines can also cure the condition but they have side effects too. </p>

Psychotherapy is the therapy in which psychologist try to understand the patient’s mind through certain set of question. Psychologists try to provide solutions to them so that any fear or bad imagination don’t make home in patient’s mind. Depressed person should be encouraged to do meditation, yoga and acupressure sessions. Giving pressure on pituitary, nervous and adrenal glands points will help in balancing the hormonal level.

A memory is called strong when it receives external stimuli, it retrieves information from past experiences and influences future actions like we have not seen someone from last many years but after listening to his name if we are able to picture his image, shows strong memory. Memory loss can occur at any stage of life. It is not associated with the age factor only. It is not a disease that is not able to cure. With simple techniques to follow in day to day, life can improve or charge the memory system.</p>



<ol class="wp-block-list"><li>The things we don’t use become useless for us. This context is the same for our mind and memory also. If we don’t use it, it will lose its power of understanding and recall. So, a person should always quest for learning new things that are out of their comfort zone. When the brain tends to learn new things and activities, our memory will become strong.</li><li> Early to bed and early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise is a true saying. Having good sleep of 8-10 hrs will prepare the mind for new things. With sound sleep, a healthy diet is also necessary. A healthy diet includes fruits, vegetables, and omega-3 rich foods. Omega -3 is considered to be beneficial for brain health in some researches. The use of tea, coffee should be limited.</li></ol>

<p>3. Try to organize the large data into small form by using memory tools called mnemonic devices. These devices create just an easy form to learn things. </p>



<p>Acronym: &nbsp;An acronym is a word that is made up by taking the first letters of all the keywords to remember. Like RAM is used for Random Access Memory.</p>



<p>Visualization: It means to give an image format to the information we want to store. </p>

large information into small chunks. Basically used for remembering the
numbers.</p>

<p>4. Playing mind games like Sudoku, word puzzles and crossword will enhance the memory as they brainstorm the mind to get the information. </p>

<p>5. Repeating, organizing, and grouping of things and activities will enhance the memory skills. Repeating means doing things from time to time to make them permanent stay on our minds. Disorganization leads to stress so organized the data into that form which is suitable for you. Grouping means to keep the same things in one bag. When going to market, group the things to buy under different categories like fruits, vegetables, general items, etc. </p>

Exercises that require hand and foot muscle co-ordination, are best for building brain health. a slight change in our day to day life which is not favorable causes a tension
in mind and pain in body, known as Stress. Stress is a common term in today’s
competitive life where everyone is running for their bread and butter. When
needs and wants are high, stress level increases. Children, teenagers, adult
and mature people all are facing stress due to one or more reasons. Different
age level have different stressors like children are stressed due to burden of
study, teenagers are stressed for their future, adults to earn better and
matured ones are due to their health, family etc. </p>



<p>What basically stress is? Stress is psychological,
physiological and behavioral response of a person when they lack balance
between the line of need and achieve. It is that state of mind that affects a
person’s thinking ability, mental peace, growth, development, working ability
and it is referred to silent killer as it can also cause heart attack, blood
pressure issues, chest pain, weight gain, hair loss and many more.</p>



<p>That’s why it is very crucial to manage the level of stress
before it becomes untreatable or lethal for anyone. There can be many
techniques which one can follow to bust their stress.</p>



<p>First of all, a person should be aware of the sources of stress known as Stressors. Root cause of the problem must be known to us, only then we can cure it. Sources can be any of our habit, attitude, workplace, relationships etc. </p>

accept it positively. Positive thinking will not change the situation but it

<p><strong><em>Communicate:</em></strong> Communicate with self and with others is also one of the stress busters. Half of the people are stressed because they are not able to express their views, ideas and opinions. When we express ourselves to others, we feel relaxed. Getting other’s point of view will help in coping with changed situation. </p>

<p><strong><em>Deep breathing, meditation, yoga </em></strong>and <strong><em>music</em></strong> therapy are some practices that can help in alleviating stress.</p>

suppress sleeping hours due to work and relationships as this increases the
stress level and affects one’s working ability.</p>



<p>Cut the usage of alcohol, drugs and other medications to
reduce stress. </p>



<p>Things that are organized and maintained are better than unorganized one. So, try to manage the things in time. <strong><em>Time management</em></strong> is crucial for every one as time stops for none and when it is gone, it is gone. That’s why, there will be no sense of crying on past time, give your career, relationship, business a new start.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Brain is multidimensional in nature. When we get right direction to unleash the potential of mind, we can succeed in both personal and professional life. These are the thoughts of<strong> Er. Jitender Jangra</strong> from <strong>Wisdom of Mind</strong> during a workshop held at <strong>Dayanand college</strong>. The workshop was organized by English department and English literary society of the college. </p>



<p>Er. Jangra said we can increase our concentration and memory level by doing simple mental exercises daily. Wisdom of mind is an institute which help people in strengthening their mental health. He also explained that researches have shown, person doing mental exercises and playing mind puzzles has strong mental state as compare to others. </p>



<p>The workshop was inaugurated by Principal, Dr. Suman Sardana and presided over by Dr. Yashurai Tayal. Other faculty members were also there for attending the workshop. </p>
