The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has introduced a new feature on its website and mobile app that allows residents to verify their mobile numbers and email IDs linked to their Aadhaar. The feature is called “Verify email/mobile Number” and can be accessed through the official website or the mAadhaar app. The UIDAI introduced this feature because it noticed that some residents were not aware of which mobile number was linked to their Aadhaar, causing them to worry that the Aadhaar OTP might be going to a different mobile number.

To use the feature, residents need to enter their Aadhaar number and the mobile number or email ID they want to verify. If the mobile number or email ID is already verified, a message will appear on the screen saying that the number is already verified with UIDAI’s records. If the mobile number or email ID is not linked to the Aadhaar, the feature will notify the resident to take the necessary steps to update the information. The feature gives confirmation to residents that their email/mobile number under their knowledge is only seeded to their respective Aadhaar.
