Maidaan movie is based on football coach Syed Abdul Rahim’s life. Syed Abdul Rahim was the football coach of the Indian national team from 1950 until his death in 1963 and a former player. He is regarded as the architect of modern Indian football. He led the Indian Football team to the 1956 Melbourne Olympic football tournament.

 In the Maidaan poster released, football players are on the ground all wrapped in the mud. Maidaan movie will be released on November 27, 2020. Maidaan movie is directed by Amit Rabindranath Sharma and produced by Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla, Arunava Joy Sengupta, and Zee Studios.
