What is a containment zone?

The area where the positive case of coronavirus is identified is referred to as the containment zone. Containment zones are created to prevent the local transmission of the disease.

How is a containment zone determined?

The rapid response team (RRT) identifies containment zones based on the cases spotted by them. Every confirmed case is considered as an epicenter. The RRT then distinguishes the area of a 3-kilometer radius around the residence of the positive case as the containment zone.

Restrictions Imposed

The perimeter control will ensure that there is no outward motion of public and transport from the containment zone, except for essential services and medical emergencies and for the continuation of government business. For people engaged in essential services going out of the house requires an issued pass/ID card.  

What is a hotspot zone?

Hotspots are the areas, where six or more people have tested positive for coronavirus. So far there are a total of 170 districts in the country which have been designated as hotspots. Hotspots zones don’t come under any of the lockdown relaxation measures till 20 April which are announced by the government.

Difference between a hot spot and a containment zone

A hotspot can be converted into a containment zone, but a containment zone needs not to get converted into a hotspot. The authorities declare some streets or neighborhoods as containment zone even if it has one case, but where more than 6 cases appear it is declared a hotspot.

These virtual classes broadcasting through AIR and DD include syllabus for Primary, Middle and High School level students and model question papers for 10th standard. Storytelling and quiz shows are also included in virtual classes in a few states. On average, any DD Channel is airing 2.5 hours of educational content daily and any All India Radio channel is airing 30 minutes of educational content daily.
