The Ranakpur Jain temple is a famous temple among Jain</strong> pilgrims. The Jain temple is a grand marble structure spreads over an area of 4500 square meters having <strong>1444 marble pillars, twenty-nine halls, eighty domes, and 426 columns</strong>. The main attraction of the temple is that no two pillars are the same and it is believed that no one count the pillars. </p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">The <strong>Ranakpur Jain temple</strong> is also known as Chaturmukha temple as it has <strong>four faces or Chaumukha</strong>. The <strong>Chaumukha Adinath </strong>idol is placed in the grabhgriha of the temple. The architecture and stone carvings of the temple are based on the Ancient Mirpur Jain Temple at Mirpur in Rajasthan. Temple also has an idol of <strong>Parshvanatha</strong> made out of a single marble rock having <strong>1008 heads of&nbsp;snakes</strong>&nbsp;and numerous tails overhead. The end of the tails can’t be found. </p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">According to Jain mythology, <strong>Dhanna Shah</strong>, a local Jain businessperson, started construction of the temple in the 15th century following a divine vision. The temple is located in a village of Ranakpur near <strong>Sadri</strong> town in the <strong>Pali </strong>district of Rajasthan. The other temples that are located <strong>Suparshvanatha temple, Sun temple, Sethi ki Badi Mandir</strong>.</p>

Also, it is just <strong>90 km</strong> away from the <strong>Udaipur</strong>. attraction point for Indians and foreigners. It is called as ‘Venice of the
East’ due to its grandeur architectural palaces and fort. Udaipur is a city in
the state of Rajasthan and it is called ‘The city of lakes’ because it is
surrounded by lakes on all the sides. The place is famous for its historical
palaces, forts, gardens, temples and aesthetic cultural values. There are many
beautiful palaces to visit in Udaipur like Udaipur city palace, lake palace,
monsoon palace, jag mandir. The lake that enhances the beauty of the city is
lake Pichola. The beauty of this place is shown in many movies and it is also a
famous place for destination weddings.</p>

<p><strong>The City Palace</strong>:
It is the heart of the Udaipur. City palace is known for its magnificent
architecture that shows medieval, European as well as Chinese influences. This
royal place is composed of four large and several small palaces and an in-built
museum that exhibits the artifacts of the state and Rajputana culture.</p>

<p><strong>Lake Pichola</strong>: A
man- made lake that encircles the tourist by its beauty. One can have boat ride
and enjoy the sunset and nature during the evenings. City palace is built on
the banks of Lake Pichola. </p>

<p><strong>Lake Palace</strong>:
Famous for wedding destination and a symbol of Udaipur tourism, the palace is
now converted into a luxurious hotel. It is also known as Jag Niwas , located
on the Jag niwas Island in lake Pichola.</p>

<p><strong>Monsoon Palace</strong>:
Also known as Sajjangarh Palace, situated about 950 m above the sea level. From
here, the picturesque view of lake Pichola can be seen.</p>



<p><strong>Vintage Car Museum</strong>: A must to visit place for automobiles freak. Here they can get a chance to watch some of the vinatage cars like Rolls-Royce used in the movie octopussy.</p>

<p>These are some of the destinations in the city that you must
visit on your trip to Udaipur. But the trip is incomplete if one doesn’t visit
the Nathdwara, Ranakpur, Mount Abu, KumbhalGarh fort places that are near to
Udaipur and has significance of their own. To explore the Udaipur peacefully,
month of October to March is ideal as it is winter time and climate is ideal
for roaming in the city.</p>
