Satish Kaushik was known for his work in films like Mr. India (1987), Ram Lakhan (1989), Saajan Chale Sasural (1996), and Tere Naam (2003). He also directed films like Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja (1993) and Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain (1999).

While addressing, the Prime Minister said that “ the Summit today might be global but its repercussions and directions are local. Today is a special day for the fast-developing India of the 21st century. 5G is a knock on the doors of a new era in the country. “5G is the beginning of an infinite sky of opportunities. The 5G testbed is launched via video conferencing at the silver jubilee celebrations of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), the Prime Minister said the 5G testbed is an important step for self-reliance in the direction of critical and modern technologies. “I invite youth friends, researchers and companies to utilise the testing facility for making 5G technology,” Modi said.

The 5G testbed has been developed as a multi-institute collaborative project by eight institutes led by IIT Madras. The other institutes that participated in the project include IIT Delhi, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Bombay, IIT Kanpur, IISc Bangalore, Society for Applied Microwave Electronics Engineering & Research (SAMEER) and Centre of Excellence in Wireless Technology (CEWiT).

In the absence of a 5G testbed, startups and other industry players were required to go abroad to test and validate their products for installation in a 5G network.

The testbed facility will be available at 5 different locations.

The Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Award was instituted in the memory and honour of the legendary Singer and Nightingale of India, Lata Mangeshkar who died on February 6 this year.

In the midst of the pandemic, he added, it was a significant achievement for our youth. “Today, India has more than 70 start-ups with a market capitalization of more than $1 billion. Earlier this year, the Indian government launched Startup India, a flagship programme aimed at facilitating funding, investment, tax breaks, and industry-academia incubation for companies in industries such as agriculture, manufacturing, healthcare, and education.

He urged the youth to become job creators, saying that in a country with a large young population, three characteristics, namely ideas and creativity, a willingness to take chances, and a can-do attitude, are the three elements that led to success stories.

Earlier in the year 1999, Pope John Paul II had visited India. Atal Bihari Vajpayee was the Prime Minister of the country during that time. Now PM Modi has invited Pope France. If he comes to India, he will become the first pope to come here in the last 22 years.

PM Modi made a visit to Pope Francis ahead of Italy’s hosting of the G20 Summit. External affairs minister S Jaishankar and national security adviser Ajit Doval joined the prime minister. He also met Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Vatican City State’s Secretary of State.

Harsh Vardhan Shringla, India’s foreign secretary, said on Friday that the Vatican had not set an agenda for the meeting since it is customary not to have one when addressing matters with the Pope, and that India will respect that.

The 16th summit of the G-20 is being held in Italy. PM Narendra Modi has reached Italy to participate in this conference. He will then visit Glasgow, the UK on 1 and 2 November at the invitation of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson. There they will discuss ways to take their relationship forward. This is the first foreign visit of PM Modi in the last two years after the outbreak of Corona pandemic.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today in a virtual event launched the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission to strengthen the health facilities. He underlined the fact that with 130 crore Aadhaar numbers, 118 crore mobile subscribers, about 80 crore internet users, about 43 crore Jan Dhan bank accounts, there is no such big connected infrastructure anywhere in the world. This digital infrastructure is bringing everything from ration to administration (Ration to Prashasan)  to the common Indian in a fast and transparent manner.

Explaining the use of technology in health, the Prime Minister said that during the Corona period, so far about 125 crores, remote consultations have been completed through e-Sanjeevani.

The Ayushman Bharat – Digital Mission, will not only make the processes of hospitals simplified but also will increase ease of living.  Under this, every citizen will now get a digital health ID and their health record will be digitally protected.

 The Prime Minister informed that India is working on a health model that is holistic and inclusive. A model which stresses preventive healthcare and, in case of disease, easy, affordable, and accessible treatment.

During the virtual event, first of all, he congratulated all the teachers who have received the national award and launched Indian Sign Language Dictionary (audio and text embedded sign language video for the hearing impaired, in conformity with Universal Design of Learning), Talking Books (audiobooks for the visually impaired), School Quality Assurance and Assessment Framework of CBSE, NISHTHA teachers’ training programme for NIPUN Bharat and Vidyanjali portal (for facilitating education volunteers/ donors/ CSR contributors for school development).

The  Prime Minister praised students, teachers, and the entire academic community for rising up to the challenge of pandemic and asked them to take forward the capabilities developed to deal with that difficult time. “If we are in the midst of a transformation period, fortunately, we also have modern and futuristic new National Education Policy”, he said.

He also launched, ‘Vidyanjali 2.0’ as a platform for the country’s resolve of ‘Sabka Prayas’ with ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas’. The Prime Minister said that everyone, in whichever sphere of life, has a role in shaping the future of the youth. He expressed happiness that athletes have accepted his request that every player visit at least 75 schools during Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. He added that National Digital Architecture i.e. N-DEAR is likely to play a major role in eradicating inequality in education and its modernization.

He said education should not only be inclusive but also be equitable. “Talking books and audiobooks are part of the education system now. A dictionary for Indian Sign language has been formed. For the first time in the country, Indian Sign language is being included as a subject in curriculum,” the PM said.
