The government will invest approximately Rs 1 lakh crore for the grain storage plan. About 3100 lakh tonnes of food grain produces every year and the current India has facilities of storage only up to 47% of the production. That’s why a Warehouse with a capacity of 2000 tonnes will be constructed in every block.

The government’s main aim for this plan is to raise India’s food grain storage capacity by 700 lakh tonnes for the cooperative society. In the upcoming next 5 years the storage capacity will expand up to 2150 lakh tonnes.

BENEFITS OF GRAIN STORAGE PLAN

1. Decreasing the wastage of food grains due to lack of storage.
2. Reducing the stress of farmers for sales of food grains and providing different options for the sale. 
3. Reducing import dependence. 
4. Generate employment opportunities in rural areas (India).

According to him, the focus of climate finance should be increased from 26% to 35% as part of the total financing by the World Bank Group.

The World Bank Group is also working on evolving its Vision and Mission, Operating Model, and Financial Capacity, as detailed in the Evolution Roadmap. The World Bank Group is committed to fighting poverty worldwide through sustainable solutions. 

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank Spring Meetings are held annually to discuss economic reform and fiscal agendas. During the 2022 meetings, some officials, in particular, US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, downplayed the risks and negative impacts of last month’s bank failures, repeating the mantra that major banking systems are healthy. While banking turmoil has indeed subsided, it is still a concern for many. The meetings also discussed the world economic outlook and the need for central banks to not use IMF projections as an excuse to get too loose again.

As part of the 50th-anniversary celebrations of Project Tiger, the Prime Minister expressed its success by mentioning, “Tiger numbers have increased by 75 percent in the last decade in India. In his speech, he talked about the importance of biodiversity and the environment in Indian culture. A key component of India’s culture is the protection of nature and the coexistence of ecology and economy. Further, he emphasized the need for international cooperation to protect and prosper biodiversity while highlighting India’s unique achievements in wildlife conservation.

The Asian lion population in India has increased from 525 in 2015 to around 675 in 2020, making it the only country in the world with Asiatic lions. A leopard population increase of over 60 percent has occurred in India in the past four years, he also mentioned.
In addition, 11 wetlands were added to the country’s list of Ramsar sites, bringing the total to 75. By 2021, India will have added more than 2200 square kilometers of forest and tree cover in comparison with 2019. During the last decade, there were over 100 Community Reserves, as well as 468 National Parks and Sanctuary areas around which Eco-sensitive Zones were announced, said the Prime Minister.

During his speech, the Prime Minister said that India’s G20 motto of ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’ embodies the idea that humanity can only thrive if the environment is protected and biodiversity remains abundant. He said, “We are all responsible for this”, adding that it is a worldwide responsibility.

Modi is the first foreign head of state to receive Bhutan’s highest civilian award, the Ngadag Pel gi Khorlo, which is considered the pinnacle of the country’s honour system because it supersedes all other orders, decorations, and medals.

The award was given by Bhutan’s King, Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, in honour of Modi’s contribution to India-Bhutan relations and his contributions to the Bhutanese people.

Overjoyed to hear His Majesty pronounce Your Excellency Modiji’s @narendramodi name for the highest civilian decoration, Order of the Druk Gyalpo.” Bhutan Prime Minister Lotay Tshering wrote on social media.

According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the recovery of 17,561 patients in the last 24 hours has increased the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) to 3,34,95,808. Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.15%. The recovery Rate is currently at its highest peak since March 2020. Active cases presently constitute 0.52% of the country’s total Positive Cases, which is the lowest since March 2020.

The last 24 hours saw a total of 12,47,506 tests being conducted. India has so far conducted over 59.57 Cr (59,57,42,218) cumulative tests.

Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban 2.0 AMRUT 2.0: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday launched the Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban 2.0 and AMRUT 2.0. During this, PM Modi praised public participation in the cleanliness campaign. According to PM Modi, Cleanliness is a campaign meant for everyone, for every day, every year, generation after generation. Cleanliness is a lifestyle, cleanliness is a life mantra.

Prime Minister launched the Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban 2.0 AMRUT 2.0 at Dr. Ambedkar International Center in Delhi on Friday. The objective of these campaigns is to make all cities garbage-free and give importance to water conservation. The program was attended by Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri as well as Urban Development Ministers of the States and Union Territories.

On the occasion, PM Modi said, in 2014, the countrymen had taken a pledge to make India open defecation free. The countrymen fulfilled this pledge with the construction of more than 10 crore toilets. Now the goal of ‘Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban 2.0’ is to make a Garbage-Free City, a city completely free of garbage.

In the next phase of Mission AMRUT (Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation 2.0), the country aims to increase sewage and septic management, and ensure that no sewage drains anywhere in the rivers. The journey of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and AMRUT Mission so far is really going to make every countryman proud. It also has mission, respect, dignity, the ambition of a country, and love for the motherland.

The women Self Help Group (SHG) members/community resource persons that are promoted under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM) will get a chance to interact with PM.

In the event, Prime Minister will also release capitalization support funds of Rs. 1625 Crore to over 4 lakh SHGs. In addition, he will release Rs. 25 crores as seed money for 7500 SHG members under the PMFME (PM Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises) Scheme of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries and Rs. 4.13 crore as funds to 75 FPOs (Farmer Producer Organizations) being promoted under the Mission.

Union Ministers Giriraj Singh, Pashupati Kumar Paras, Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, Faggan Singh Kulaste, Kapil Moreshwar Patil, and Prahlad Singh Patel will also be present during the virtual event.

Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihoods Mission aims at mobilizing rural poor households into SHGs in a phased manner and provide them long-term support to diversify their livelihoods, improve their incomes and quality of life.

PM Modi last addressed the nation on April 19 when in a single day, COVID cases were nearly 300,000, and while more than 2,000 deaths were being recorded.

The Prime Minister chaired a review meeting regarding the Class XII Board exams of CBSE. In view of the uncertain conditions due to COVID and the feedback obtained from various stakeholders, it was decided that Class XII Board Exams would not be held this year. It was also decided that CBSE will take steps to compile the results of class XII students as per well-defined objective criteria in a time-bound manner.

The decision on Class 12 CBSE Exams, according to the Prime Minister, was made in the best interests of students. COVID-19 has impacted the academic calendar, and the problem of Board Exams has caused significant worry among students, parents, and instructors, which he believes must be addressed.

The Prime Minister stressed that the health and safety of our students are of utmost importance and there would be no compromise on this aspect. He said that in today’s time, such exams cannot be the reason to put our youth at risk.
