Player of the Match – Salman Agha

Pakistan vs South Africa first ODI played at Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad, on November 4.

Pakistan won the toss and opted to bowl first. Lhuan-dre Pretorious and De Kock opened for South Africa. Both openers gave South Africa a good start. Lhuan-dre hit a fifty on his debut match. Pakistan got their first wicket in Saim Ayub’s over, Lhuan-dre scored 57 runs. De Kock also hit a fifty. Naseem Shah bowled out De Kock. De Kock scored 63 runs.

In the very next over, Saim Ayub got another wicket of Tony de Zorzi. Captain Matthew Breetzke and Sinethemba Qeshile tried to build a partnership, but Sinethemba got out in Nawaz’s over on 22 runs. Breetzke scored 42 runs, and Corbin Bosch scored 41 runs. No other batter stood up for South Africa. Abrar and Nasheem got 3 wickets each, Saim Ayub got 2 wickets, and Nawaz and Shaheen picked up 1 wicket each. South Africa posted a total of 263 runs.

Pakistan had a good start. Saim Ayub scored 39 runs and got out to Danovan Ferreira. In Danovan next over, he got another opener as well. Fakhar scored 45 runs. Babar also got out early on Bjorn Fortuin’s ball. Rizwan and Agha hold the rope of chase. Rizwan scored 55 runs and got out on Corbin Bosch’s ball.

Hussain Talat scored 22 runs and got out to Lungi Ngidi. At this point, Pakistan needed 23 runs in 24 balls, but Pakistan still made it to the final over and lost 8 wickets. Agha scored 62 runs.

INDIA – 136-9 (26)

AUSTRALIA – 131-3 (21.1)

Player of the Match – Mitchell Marsh

India tour of Australia, India will play 3 ODIs and 5 T20s.

Australia won the toss and opted to bowl first. Rohit got out on Hazlewood’s hard length ball, edged and taken at second slip. Virat Kohli struggled with that same old problem. Went for a big drive away from his body. Thick outside edge and taken at the backward point by Connolly.

Nathan Ellis took the Indian Captain in the 9th over. India’s top 3 got out early. Rain affected the match, and Iyer also got out early after the restart of the match. Axar and Rahul built a partnership, and at the end of the innings, Nitish Reddy hit some crucial runs. Hazelewood, Mitchell Owen, and M Kuhnemann took 2 wickets each, Mitchell Starc and Nathan Ellis took 1 wicket each.

Match reduced to 26 overs due to rain. India posted a total of 136 runs in 26 overs, but it was reduced to 130 due DLS method. The DLS method needs some reforms. India played according to 50 overs at the start, but rain interrupted, and they got to know the match was reduced to 26 overs. Then they try to make quick runs. In between, they lose wickets. On the other hand, Australia knew from the start that they needed to chase this score in 26 overs. How is it fair to cut those 6 runs from India’s total?

Arshdeep took the early wicket of Travis Head on 8 runs. Matthew Short got out on Axar Patel’s ball. But Mitchell Marsh scored 46 runs not out, and Josh Philippe scored 37 runs and got out on Washington’s ball. Reshaw scored 21 runs to get a comfortable win for Australia.

Afghanistan vs Bangladesh 3rd ODI was played at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi on 14 Oct. Afghanistan won the toss and opted to bat first.

Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran gave a solid opening start to Afghanistan. Gurbaz missed his fifty by 8 runs and Ibrahim missed his century by just 5 runs. Sediqullah Atal, a young talented left-hander, also contributed 29 runs. In the end, Mohammad Nabi, who has been finishing games for Afghanistan for many years, did it again with a quickfire 62 off 37 balls.

For Bangladesh, Saif Hassan bowled just 4 overs but gave away only 6 runs and took 3 important wickets, including a maiden over. Hassan Mahmud and Tanvir Islam took 2 wickets each, while Mehidy Hasan Miraz picked up 1 wicket.

Chasing 294, Bangladesh struggled from the start. Saif Hassan, who also opened the batting, scored 43 off 54 balls [4s-2, 6s-3], but no other batter could even reach double figures.

Bilal Sami, a 21-year-old pacer, took his first five-wicket haul. Rashid Khan showed his magic with the ball, picking up 3 wickets, and Azmatullah took 1 wicket.

Afghanistan bowled out Bangladesh for just 93 runs and completed a dominant 200-run win to seal a 3-0 clean sweep.
