<p>International Yoga Day is being celebrated on June 21. On this day everyone talks about the benefits associated with yoga and shares photos while doing yoga. <strong>This year&#8217;s Yoga Day theme is Climate Action.</strong> Let it be said, June 21 is the biggest day of the year and on this day World Music Day is also celebrated.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How did the Yoga Day start?</h2>



<p>In many countries around the world, people do yoga to stay healthy. But the start of the International Yoga Day started with the initiative of India. On September 27, 2014; Prime Minister Narendra Modi called upon the United Nations General Assembly to celebrate Yoga Day around the world. The United Nations General Assembly had announced its event within just three months after the proposal arrived. The General Assembly announced on 11 December 2014 that 21st day of June will be celebrated as Yoga Day in the world. After which people from all over the world celebrate 21 June every year as International Yoga Day.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Why is Yoga Day celebrated on June 21?</h2>



<p>There is also a special reason for opting for the International Yoga Day on June 21. Actually, this day is the longest day in the Northern Hemisphere, which can also be called Summer Solstice. From the perspective of Indian culture, after the summer solstice, the sun turns southward and this time is very beneficial in achieving spiritual accomplishments. That is why the 21st day of June was set to celebrate International Yoga Day.</p>

<p>Clear your mind and body out of negativities is necessary
and can be done through these simple techniques:</p>



<p><strong>&nbsp;Exercise Daily</strong>: To burn the negative energy out of mind and body, exercise daily. Exercise can reduce the stress. Simple activities like taking a staircase instead of Lift, riding a bicycle, a 30 minute walk, swimming and stretching can help in reducing stress.</p>

<p><strong>Take healthy diet: </strong>Mind and stomach are inter-related. When we get healthy food, our mind feels calm and relaxed. There are some hormones known as stress hormones whose level need to be checked. Chocolate, herbal tea, plenty of water, fresh fruits and vegetables all will help in detoxifying the body and get rid of stress.</p>

<p><strong>Be an Optimist: </strong>Positive thinking is very importantfor any stressed or depressed person because negative thoughts will only exaggerate the situation. Thinking about good people and having good thoughts will calm the mind. Surround yourself with the positive mind people as they will encourage you to also think and behave positively. </p>

<p><strong>Meditation: </strong>Meditation
is a great way of making mind relax and calm. Deep breathing and yoga are also
the part of meditation. This helps in knowing us better, make us kind and mindfulness.

<p><strong>Change the environment</strong>: The environment in which you are living matters a lot on your mental and physical health. Environment that is calm and composed, free of negativities is crucial for removing stress. Messy environment creates lot of clutter in life and mind. Remove the clutter or get separate yourself from unnecessary things as soon as possible.</p>
